I am more than happy to agree to disagree coz we all watch the episodes with a certain set of expectations in mind. Yesterday's episode hit the right note for me.

I don't see it as direction mistake and writing inconsistency.. I do get Priya's pov and the writer's pov.

I am baffled that I am defending writing and direction coz I have always been salty about it . Even after reading all the amazing discussions in EDT, I still didn't feel satisfied with the way Ram-Priya hug and kiss in the hotel sealed the Vedika chapter , so I completely get it if people are disappointed and salty with yesterday's episode..

See , I know when the MS thing happened Ram and Priya's relationship had not progressed that much. But u know in spite of knowing the fact that Priya is a private person , Ram had hugged her, held her hands , had given her different forms of verbal assurance every time something happened.

But there are some areas of Priya's life which she keeps extremely guarded and Ram gives her the rightful space and privacy when he thinks she needs it..

MS and Priya's insecurities about her looks are 2 such things..

Ram is someone who does not shy away from showing his affection when he thinks that is the right thing but he also practices restraint when he things that is the right way..

Inspite of Shikki's issues Ram and Priya happily travelled together that day , Priya even said" Mujhe toh koi wajah nahi mili ki mai aapke saath na chalu" in car. Ram dressed her up and Pri allowed him to do that..

They were pretty much over Shikki.

When Ram saw Pri breaking down after that verbal abuse , his instinct was to run to her and comfort her , but he gave her space and went behind MS.

Similarly, during their night under stars, Priya broke so many walls around her. It takes so much courage for a human to own the fact and acknowledge that yes " I have certain mental health issues and I wanted to be treated , but I did not have money" and you saw tears falling from her eyes.

She voluntarily opened up about the darkest area of life even without much of Ram's push.

Why?? Because there were a lot of small steps that Ram had taken towards Priya that gave her the required strength and courage to open up own her own , she knew she will not be judged , neither for her mental health issues nor be looked down for lack of money.

( Same thing would happen for Ram too, one day he will trust Priya enough to tell her how much sautela hurts him, he will not hide his tears from Pri, but confidently cry before her and ask her tissues too. But it will happen slowly)

At that point of time, when Pri had tears falling down and when she said "mere marne tak ,meri Akhri saans tak , ye sach nahi badlega " one might expect Ram the softie to break down along with her , on the utterance of such heavy words, take the place of the father she never had, hug her hold her hand, or put a hand on her forehead , but he remain very composed and strong , gave her tissues and joked with her , because that was his interpretation of what would be the right thing to do.

Similarly after the murder truth was revealed , Pri said mujhe kuch aur chahiye aapse went ahead to hug him but stopped for her own reasons. Ram definitely understood that , did not hug her and gave her space..

Another example is when Pri opened up about her inferiority complexes w.r.t looks after the accident when he was combing her hair " Meri shakal hi aisi hai", one might badly want Ram to tell her directly how beautiful he finds her, the validation her own father, mother ,sisters, ex-boyfriend never gave her but once again he took it slowly and said " Theek thaak hai shakal , dikhao mujhe. instead of calling her beautiful " and made her smile and cheer up.

Because that was the first time he got to know about her complexes , he handled it with restraint.

So the point is, all these incidents happened at different points of their relationship. But based on the situation and Ram's understanding of Priya's character , he did different things to provide her comfort..

Priya needs fatherly love and Ram need's motherly love, but that is too high and unfair an expectation.. They will fill that void in each other's life but not now. They will reach their eventually .

"He needed that breakdown otherwise thenext morning when he was humming the song out of the bathroom, and his usualgoofiness was odd in thefirst place. So without that unloading of emotions, how would he retort to hisgoofiness so easily. NO. I don't buy that. "

Does Ram need a breakdown, does he need to unload ?

Yes, no doubt about it . Was yesterday the right day for it, definitely not according to me.

Why ?? Because this is the most sensitive and guarded area of his life, so when it will happen Priya has to be extremely well equipped and thousand times more mentally and emotionally strong than what she is and she was not at all equipped yesterday..

So this also reminds me of YJHD favorite dialogue - " Yaadein mithai ke dibbe ki tarah hoti hai.. ek baar khula toh sirf ek tukda nahi kha paoge "

This pandora's box will be opened by the makers when the time is right .... When both of them are better equipped..

I really really loved @dazzlinglight point that when we gift someone something, more than what we want to gift we think about their feelings of what they would like to receive .

But here I look at the situation differently.

There are 2 things -

1) Firstly according to me and as @hero_coconut pointed out, Pri's awkwardness this time has got nothing to do with her own inhibitions around touch . The awkwardness had nothing to do with sexual tension..

It is not about the fact that, ohh they already slept so close, they have already crossed line, they have kissed and hugged before so what is stopping Priya now??

Instead it has to do with the intensity of the situation that transpired.. The difference in lift awkwardness and yesterdays episode is so visibly different.

Would Priya not have wanted to scream and shout , hold his hands and say " Please don't cry, I am there for you ". Would she have not wanted to wipe his tears and hold him close and protect him from the cruel world??

YES , YES and YES but she practiced restraint .

Has Ram reached the stage were he trusts Priya enough to cry before her and not hide his tears , to open up about this particular area of his life the way she opened up to him on that star gazing night?

NO..

Therefore , Priya did what she thought was the right thing to do, for Ram , for her and for their relationship and as his wife she has all the rights to handle him the way she thinks would be right for him ..

2) Just holding hands , and putting an arm around him , is that too much to ask for ? Using the gift analogy , and knowing the fact that Ram as a person is different from Priya and seeks solace and assurance in touch , should Pri have done that??

Look at it this way..

That one loving touch from Priya could have possibly caused a breakdown of not only Ram but Priya too. She too was equally in pain seeing Ram in pain, had her own share of kidnapping trauma.

Ram stopping Priya and holding his hand maybe seen as him wanting that touch, but there is much more than that one thing Ram wanted and was going through..

Maybe he wanted that touch but still did not want to cry before her.. He wanted to guard and protect his feelings and wanted privacy too..

We have to understand that even though Priya is very strong person , doesn't mean she has the strength to give Ram just that one loving touch and then withdraw when there so many emotions she is going through .

She did not know what would be the consequences of that one touch?

Will there be a breakdown?

If yes, then even after seeing Ram in that state, will Priya still have the mental strength to be firm in her resolve of getting justice for VK.

Will she still be able to hide from Ram that she was kidnapped ?

It is sometimes important to take tough decisions in life, to think practically and not emotionally. It may come across as insensitive and rude , but it is not. That is what makes Priya different.

Sometimes it is important to gift the person what they want, but sometimes it is even more important to gift the person what is right for them.

Priya gifted Ram what he wanted by eating the Kachori, by getting wet in the rain twice, but today she did what she thought was the right thing for Ram.

As you always say Doods nazar aur nazariye ka farq hai..

Let's see if today's episode will have continuity and audience popular wish will be fulfilled or it'll be a fresh morning. Either ways I am fully satisfied with the way things have turned out.

Suddenly and surprisingly I have become so positive 😂

I have full faith on RaYa and on Priya that she will give Ram everything he deserves but not how we may want it, but RaYa will do it in their own way

I typed a long answer, and then I deleted it. My pov is still the same because the entire episode was a CRAPPY direction. I will give the technical reason why the hug was not there in the bakery and in the room because the scenes were shot separately. This is why it was the director's FAULT.

1. Ram was absolutely right when he said he hates Pri's one-moment gale lagna (hugging) and another moment jhatak dena. (being indifferent)

2. Pri proved Ram's above point in the bedroom that night in the affirmative.

3. She wanted to hold his hands in the car but not in the room. Please, directors explain to me WHY?

4. When Pri wanted Ram to give space in the room, then who told her to enter and talk about shopping? That didn't even cheer him up. Leave him alone!

5. Pri was scared of the kidnapping, and it was a 'known' event, but that man was scared to death in an 'unknown state.' How in the world an empathetic person like Pri didn't understand is beyond me.

6. Shubham suddenly demanded about the investigation, and wanting Ram to back down was a forceful injection to the scene. What was the need for that? Just to create a scene of 'sautela' so another drama can happen in the ceremony? Or show viewers that Nandini is the culprit in something?

7. Shivi is selfish we all know, but she is not insensitive. She never talks back at Akki. The actions of Shubu and Shivi were NOT at all justified.

8. The whole dining table scene was an afterthought.

9. In the morning, she talked about another night in the hotel, and in the evening, at the bakery when Ram was visibly shaken, she didn't even flinch? Just stood there pursing her lips?

10. I have only one explanation for Pri's actions and that is she listened to Krish - "Listen to me, don't listen to your hormones." This is the ONLY defense I can provide for her actions—nothing else.

11. Ram is a people person. When he had no one in his life, he would drink, and Adi would hug him and help him break down; today he was insulted, but he didn't go out even then. Do you know why? Because he knows he has someone of his own with him. He wanted her that moment to console him. Yesterday's episode proved that last Monday's makeup session was FAKE for Pri. She just went with the flow without any feelings.

I have written pages about Priya Kapoor, explained her, and defended her, but with the progression their relationship has progressed, I cannot justify her actions. This is not the Pri I relate to. I am sorry!

Tirchi is always right. We need to learn silence in relationships.
