But to me Sai must have felt it as giving up on KJ.

I don't know whether you believe it or not (neither do I but it's a common understanding) that a diya in front of dead persons photo/image is symbolic of their soul/aatma.

I mean not always but a diya like that is never extinguished purposely as V did. Hence Sai relighted it.

Totally my understanding, I might be wrong.
