I have defended LGBT rights before and claimed to be a LGBT ally so it gives me a free pass to open a thread where I make a "joke" and homophobes get to use Ranbir-Ayan to make homophobic jokes or deflect from their homophobia 🤔.

Whatever makes one sleep at night I guess .

Toh main yeh nahin jaanata ki LGBTQ community ki Ranbir-Ayan jokes par kya take hai.

Lekin yeh baat toh hai ki jab Bhai par aise jokes crack hote hain tab way kaafi funny prateet kiye jaate hain...

There was a time when rape jokes were normal and accepted....same was with the gay jokes....we as a society didn't have an awareness about the LGBTQ community....what they go through...how society treats them....if we look back there are a lot of movies that had objectionable content and did great...3 Idiots with its rape jokes.....but we have to move on...we cannot be hung over the movies that showed these stuff 10, 20 years back and think if then it was acceptable and laughed about...why not now.....people grow and change when they learn about things...10 years back I wouldn't have given a thought about this topic but now I do.....

Recently we had a webinar about the transgenders in our organization....there were 3 people on the panel who told us their stories....it literally brought so many of us to tears....their own families threw them out...they were on their own and faced mockery and violence.....point being that we have to change our stance as we get to learn things....or experience things....it would be sad to not to and be rigid because 10 years back some of us thought it was OK.

Or maybe the suggestion that Ranbir might have been in a gay relationship once is what’s triggering some of them, and in return they are attacking us and calling us homophobic. I don’t remember any one of these guys ever raising their voices when KJo was openly being called GayJo on this forum. And the excuse of time doesn’t apply because over the years 3 Idiots rape jokes have been criticized here (very rightfully so) and so have some problematic scenes in DDLJ (also very rightfully so). But blatant homophobic stances, whether real or reel, are glanced over. Yet a joke about Ayan not moving on gets most of us labeled as homophobic.

Is this ponymo? the same person who was defending gays and wishing everyone to have gay kids, who is going to reproduce if everyone is gay? we need different people in the world gay and straight. Now she is making a topic making jokes about a gay person. If ranbir and ayan are in a relationship then they need to come out in the open but if it is just rumors then its' whatever. From the pictures that I saw Ayan looks happy and was kissing alia in the cheeks maybe alia won't mind ranbir and ayan's relationship.

Ab padha maine.. aur main woh dard samajh sakta hoon jab koi aapka mazaak udaaye. Hope they feel better. Humor ki yeh samasya hai ki hansne wale ko bada maza aata hai aur joh target hai use bura lagta hai. Lekin kya har gay joke "homophobic" hota hai?

Ergo.

Meri raay mein gay jokes ko cancel nahin karna chahiye. E.g. KHNK remake huyi toh usmein bhi gay jokes ho sakte hain, provided it's not tasteless or making fun of the community as a whole. In fact gay jokes ya imagery ko ban kar dena mere opinion mein homophobia hai!
