With the budget and technical knowledge, Bollywood can make movies like BB, KGF but the industry still completely believes in star power which is not the only factor to get pan India appeal. Prabhas and Yash were not the top most stars in their own industry.

I believe SLB is only director who have attempted these kind of movies that too many times without the top stars.

Bollywood has a huge void of actors and directors/technicians/writers which are being filled by South Indian actors and directors.

They don't connect with the audience anymore, They don't have to remake RRR/KGF/Bahubali, India has a rich history, we have amazing writers who are writing novels every year but Bollywood can only go as far as adapting Chetan Bhagat's B grade work

When they attempted something like Indus Valley Civilization, the end product was a pathetic excuse of a movie called "Mohejodaro" 🙄

They couldn't even do bare minimum work of going through NCERT to make the movie expecting a good research on the topic is far fetched

Lack of talent and taking audience for granted. Bollywood is doomed now. South Indian and Hollywood movies are the present and future of Indian cinema.

These pan-Indian movies from the South are hyper-masculine high-adrenaline action flicks.

Currently, no mainstream leading men in Bollywood fit that trope. Some like John Abraham, Vidyut Jamwal, or Tiger Shroff could fit the trope but they don't have the fan following.

Most South Indian action/drama flicks are all about raw machismo and hyper adrenaline stunts. You need a director with conviction and actors fully on board to deliver such product. Bollywood lacks both. Tell me a director in bollywood who is as gifted a story teller and has strong visual sense as SS Rajamouli or even Prashant Neel?

Bhansali does ghisy pity romance with drama in a period setting, but doesn't know jack about action and vfx loaded action.

Rohit shetty can do action, but can't tell a story. His action lacks that grandness.

Siddharth Anand can do very slick looking action and makes his actors look great on screen with some nice stunts and all, but he struggles with story telling.

Other so called good filmmakers like Raju Hirani, Nitesh Tiwari, Neeraj Pandey etc. can tell good stories and make entertaining films, but they don't know how to do a large scale larger than life machismo film with big vfx and stuff.

Only guy who I think has potential is Om Raut. Tanhaji had nice action and cool vfx. Story telling was okay too. Let's see if he can deliver something mindblowing with Adipurush. One thing is for sure that a lot is riding on that 250+ crore vfx heavy film.

Bollywood should first have guts to release movies in non-festive season, until that they cannot penetrate regional markets.

Yash, NTR , Ram Charan and even Allu Arjun are lesser known stars than John or Vidyut or Tiger but directors cannot cast them as they can only do action and look good but cannot sum up the emotion for such scenes.

In fact Prashant the director of KGF2 said that mindless masala will not do well it has to be backed by real emotional drama for us to accept the movies which will not obey the laws of nature or physics.

He is absolutely right be it Pushpa or RRR or KGF2 have those high emotional scenes similarly even Sooryavanshi had the same which was missing in Bachchan Pandey with good humour but the emotional thrust was missing

Robot

Sairat

An some others. I just don’t think 6 regional films mean regional movies are better than Bollywood ones 🤷‍♂️ lol
