I have crushed on a few people who I didn't pursue even when they showed interest in me cuz of my personal hangups/insecurities. The timing was wrong too I guess.

But your topic made me think of this guy friend of mine who keeps dropping hints about wanting more than friendship, which I gracefully declined at first. He initially said he understood and interacted with me like a friend for a while afterwards. But I don't know what happens to him every now and then, he presses the same issue when I talk to him for longer than ten mins or spend some time with him. I've been brushing it off every single time and might give him the "talk" one of these days.... which I really wanted to avoid. He's a nice friend to have but I am not attracted to him at all in that sense. It gets exasperating when the person refuses to take the hint.
