Was the court Marriage real?

I kept meaning to ask somewhere but didn't see any old posts. Did Aryan and Imlie actually went through a court marriage before going to the T house to confront Aditya? Then even if they say it's fake, it's legal. I don't think Aryan would just dress up as bride and groom and confront everyone saying we are married. He wouldn't leave anyone challenging his claims and will have marriage certificate handy. For Imlie saying she wants a fake wedding,I felt she meant not doing a social marriage that they anyway ended up doing. Because she believes in the rasam and kasam more than papers. Even after divorce she kept harking back that kagaz se rishta nahi tuta etc.

My point is dude, if u signed the papers you are married.. no matter what u believe, its what the Indian constitution believes that matters.

There was never a court marriage at all, it was just a story they cooked up to make it believable to Nammy and Arpi!

meh.. thats bad writing.. I remember they showed a marriage certificate in the first wedding promo.. So i was wondering if i missed that.

Since it happens so often, the terms like "legal" or "divorce" seems like jargons in the Imlie-land.

AKT got forcefully married to Imlie then got married to Malini both ritually and legally. Out of the blue he realized he loves Imlie. So he got divorced with Malini, and then (probably) remarried Imlie legally. Then again divorced Imlie and remarried Malini. Probably, divorced Malini again when her truth was out. All said done in a span of less than 6 months (which is also the minimum time required by law for a couple to divorce) !

They talk about divorce all the time but never explicitly mentioned legal marriages. Not of Aditya-Imlie, nor Aditiya-Malini, nor Aryan-Imlie.

Talking about all these divorce and marriages, makes me feel dizzy.

I just hope Aryan and Imlie stay married and don't walk the divorce path. At most they can have vow-revival after they realize and accept their feelings for each other.

The marriage certificate only showed up in first promo and BTS, never seen in actual episodes...

I think the CVs wanted to keep lots of options open at the time of first promo, they were not sure we're it's headed, lots of provision in the script i believe, from the first promo to the actual wedding.

So Adi and Imlie were married at gun point. Forcefully. As far as I know no one registered thsi marriage so it was only a religious wedding but not a legal one.

When Adi married Malini, this time willingly and not at gun point the marriage was naturally registered and made legally sound and recognisable.

When Adi fell in love with Imlie while being Malini's husband the only rationale that was provided to support his bigamy was that Imlie was his first wife... but legally Malini was his lawfully wedded wife right? And even in Religion I don't think marriages conducted at gun point are considered to be blessed by the gods. So in all senses Malini was Adi's first wife... right?

Next when Adi got a divorce from Malini - he never really remarried imlie. I mean unless you consider circling around broken furniture that has been lit alight and then putting sindoor in her maang shaadi. But I am assuming at this point they registered the marriage. So Imlie finally at this point became his wife.

After that he divorced imlie, did not wait the waiting periods after a divorce and then married malini, whom her later divorced.

So Malini should technically be his first and 3rd wife. While Imlie was his second. Can someone explain why people consider his marriage to Malini (the first time round) nullified and Imlie the first wife???

First adi.lie wedding (gunpoint one) is voidable at the opinion of parties, since they didn't opt for an annulment, it's valid as per the laws. It was a religious wedding too, just not a social one.

Which makes adini first wedding illegal, but it was a religious and social marriage. I don't think there was a point of divorce for adini first wedding but who knows 🤷 they story is a mess anyway, as my lawyer friend puts it, AKT could probably provide jobs to half a dozen lawyers with series of weddings and divorces, but then he wouldn't be able to afford the fees 👀

Adini 2nd marriage is valid legal/social/religious as he'd divorced from his first wife imlie then married malini, at least that one has a clean slate.

okay so if anything is a wedding then religiously that is fine. But Malini had clear legal leverage??? she in the eyes of law (not religion) was the first wife still. right???
