On different note, I am actually surprised that I remember so much about Silsila. It was very close to my bedtime and there were many times where I literally fell asleep while watching. Maybe I just remember my impession because I had a different read on the drama than most and I felt sorry for the actors who were trying so hard. 🤷‍♀️

yep it can happen sometimes... there's this book i read long back, still remember the story but not the title or author, frustrating at times as well.

Silsila i thought was 8:30 pm IST slot?

No it was late at night. I remember it was after Bepannah and I basically started Silsila by accident as it came right after and I was too lazy to change the channel. I think towards the end of the season 1, it was around 11.30???? Something like that. I only know this because I literally found myself dozing off while watching, would wake up and half the drama would be over and I just went to bed. Or I woke up the next morning with no memory of watching the drama. 😂.

I was totally team mauli.. I get what you are saying but there was no such big issue between the couple that could not be sorted out by two honest conversations... Its not as if kunal tried to reach out to mauli and she disregarded him

Yes mauli had strong opinions... But she also had a huge heart and her trust on these two people was absolute... She didn't for a second even gave credence to gossip that something was going on between the two

Rather than dealing with his own marriage and sorting out its issues, kunal chose to basically run away to first abla naari he found dancing who needed his protection..

I liked all three actors esp drashti but that show was a mess... There was never enough justification for kunal to put mauli through this... Like! Just go to a long couples therapy you ass. Don't cheat on her with her best friend.. Thats one of the worst betrayals you can do to a person

And I'll agree with Sundari, i do find some parallels between kunal and aditya..

Bec both men hurt people around them and love to play victim.. Even kunal in his defence was like i couldn't help myself... I tried.. Woe is me

complex stories like silsila and imlie 1.0 are always open to different interpretations by different viewers.

the narrative is also open ended leaving a lot to audience imagination, we fill in blanks based on perceptions and interpretations

I was team popcorn. hahahahah 😂 I literally didn't care either way and had no reaction to the drama itself; so it was definitely an interesting ride to watch it with people who had strong opinons. 😀

But yea, I felt sorry for the actors -- they actually elevated really stupid writing and tried to do their best to show complex nuance but much of it did fall flat. Like you said, they could have a shown a marriage in complete disarray where they were trying and failing -- basically a modern take on what goes on inside a marriage. However, it was a bit of hodge podge. I felt bad that people trolled the actors on social media for just doing their job. 🤦‍♀️

yes fan wars was worse specially bringing actors, it happens here too on a daily basis...

and so far i've seen all of the actors being dragged down to mud.

very distasteful.

I'll disagree a little here..

I think a lot of complex stories, at least on indian television is just shittyy characters being elevated by good acting... And once you get a certain distance from the show, it does seem pretty black and white...

Like i remember during silsila there were huge debates but now if i had to sum it up i would say kunal was nothing but a weak man looking for an easy escape

Same with imlie 1.0. I actually watched the whole aryan portion first and then went back to watch the earlier episodes... So there is a sense of detachment and distance... And all i can see is emotional (and sometimes physical) abuse of a young girl who is absolutely hungry for acceptance

... Has there been a truly grey story on itv where you just can't make up your mind who to support?

Yea I don't understand such fan behaviour. At the end of the day, the actors are just doing their job. If anything, get mad at the director or the writing team. But even then, if you don't like something, just don't watch.

I really don't understand fans who are so agressive that they attack actors or even other viewers who have a different opinion on them on social media. Why not be polite and have a civil discussion? They immediately have to label and call names on people who have a different read on the drama or character. Why? At the end of the day, it is just TV. 🤦‍♀️

Even if we don't agree, we can all learn so much when we hear each other out. Can't agree, just agree to disagree and move on like adults. But some fans (shaking my head), I wonder if they are just insecure in life and taking out their frustratons on the internet. 🤷‍♀️
