I agree with you. Here Priya was both witness and victim to the crime MS executed. What more do you need to report? Here ITV is sending wrong message to common people to be the investigator and vigilante himself/herself. What Priya did was more dangerous and risky exposing her husband to more attempts. How was she so sure that more attempts will not be made? I am still not able to digest or understand what Priya did. Even Priya, before she was married reported the attempted hit and run by Shubham with just a blurry pic of the license plate. What stopped hr from doing it now. Since she is married to elite class, does she think she can play the investigator, police and judge all by herself?
On a time crunch, Will come back later with a more detailed reply later.
What Priya did (withholding information on a crime) is a punishable offence, in legal terms it is called ‘accessory after the fact’. I don’t see how she can justify her actions, not having evidence is not a justification, if all citizens started thinking like that no crimes will be reported, and/or everyone will become detective. A citizen’s job is to report what they know of, it is the police’ job to arrest the culprit, enquire, find the evidence and present them in court. But in ITV, female leads (and male leads too at times)are all happens to be capable investigators who sometimes even do the judge job of convicting or acquitting (aka forgiving in ITV terms)
