Mahima thought Akshu was the perfect Birla bahu up until the point when she started seeing that she was winning everyone over & that she is now also getting recognition in the hospital. Mahima needs to remain on top in both the household & hospital, and she can see that Akshu is changing those dynamics, which is not going down well with her. She was the one who could have avoided the entire tilak fiasco after all, so she has been insecure, manipulative, and power hungry from the start. But, I totally agree with you that she does not get credit nor appreciation, especially from Anand, which really does fuel her issues. Anand was out of line in calling her out today in front of the patients, just like she was out of line in blasting Akshu in front of the patients.
As for the rasams, I agree with you. I don't think there is anything wrong with the Goenkas wanting to celebrate all of these, but that doesn't mean that everyone from the Birlas is going to be interested too. I personally think that if Abhi is enjoying them, then as his family, they should participate, but that is not the reality & they are busy doctors!
Mahima is power hungry because she practically doesn't have any power neither in hospital nor at home. Instead of demanding appreciation which is her right she dominates over her younger sister Manjari and wants to dominate over Akshara too. Now that she's realizing Akshara is not stupid and naive like Manjari she's feeling threatened by her.
Abhimanyu enjoys the rasams because his family doesn't do all these but I feel he too went overboard with it. Instead of blaming Mahima who was busy in the hospital he should have scolded Manjari for granting leave to the cooks. The Goenkas should have informed the Birlas about this rasam one day before so that they would have planned it accordingly. They can't let them know in the last minute specially when they know Birlas are so busy and Manjari is not fully recovered yet.
