I hear you, actually we are also invested in this story that I now want to know what happened. I also know that this is probably to give SP more screentime. He must be feeling super insecure.

There is no progression in terms of Anu and Ak's life, no sit down quiet chats or dhamal masti, be it chai, dinner, serious discussion about life or chit chat about nothing, they are not given alone time, always surrounded with the Shahs

Does this mean that new show they will reduce the lead character's time on the main show, could be? I've been watching the show from the beginning and quite disappointed considering it is the number one show in Hindi belt.

We get a couple of very good episodes. Clean, crisp writing, dialogue delivery and thought out track etc. And then the next one it just drops off. Tracks are just lost and swept under the carpet, and it's a continuous loop off progression regression, there is no actual progress, or rather progress takes months to show but tam jham drama is instantly shown!

Anyways let's see what these writers/creative directors dole out.

My thoughts are this prequel is a way to check if a spin-off show would be popular of Anupama. The PH's other show Yeh rishta kya khelata hai also had a spin-off. Unfortunately it was not as popular but still a great show.

But yes, its hard for them to keep engaging storylines as the same writers are managing different shows. The other show Albela started recently but not really popular, with a TRp of 0.3.
