I guess, in a family with so many women, who have been targeted for being women, left by the head for being women. one will have to take up the charge of being tough , cynic and also rude. With leeches out there, women need to go extra mile to 'appear' rude that ultimately turns them bitter. Its sad that Priya's backstory, for that matter Ram's as well has not been explored. She is reduced to a girl with daddy issues. Priya has conditioned her self to be this for years, to protect her family and also herself. For conditioning to go it takes time. Ram is a good man but his family is way too manipulative and trouble maker for her to come out of that conditioning. They infact come out of ways to let her be that Priya, who is not cynic, but acts to be cynic.
Just like Ram needs Priya for him to come out his conditioning of being responsible/guilty when something goes wrong in his family, for thinking he gets from them what he deserves, there is nothing wrong in them calling him sautela as he is suatela, Priya needs him to realise, she need to be this harsh on her and people around her, all she needs is to let go, relax , release and enjoy. He did make her do here and there, but the again his family.
