Nah the whole marriage was the proposal of Aditya so if they had tried to avoid it and say they are already married he wouldn't have believed it and would still roam near Imli and then she can get manipulated. He don't want to Imlie for manipulation and wanted to end Adi's Hopes. Hence he is marrying her by rituals and for her she need to be strong enough to crush Adi's obsession towards her. She needs to be enough to look beyond his actions and also crush Adi's expectations

Yes. Exactly she has the choice of backing away and letting AKT deal with his mess. But Imlie is not willing to let him suffer. She does not want to suffer either but not understanding that she cant have all the power. A part of me wonders her logic, if the marriage does not happen what stops Aryan from going after AKT again. She may own the T house but Aryan paid for it, he can still evict them. He can fire AKT as well. I mean there are so many options.
