I understood most of episode 1 and I got the gist of things in episode 2 as well, except some words in the conversation between Momin and his grandfather were unfamiliar. @austen, @Snow - I’ve watched one and a half episodes of Alif. It’s definitely interesting, my only issue is the Urdu goes over my head fairly frequently. And of course I’m not able to read the Arabic script - what was Momina leafing through at the end of episode 1?

What’s the word his grandfather uses, as the opposite to shohrat (fame)? Fallah?

Also is there significance to the ML/ FL being called Momin/Momina? Struck me as a bit strange…

I can see I’ll need to turn to you and @austen for help as I watch this show. No, I’m sure he is better - there is backstory and a path to his evolution already being shown. I knew he had something else in his name but again I missed the word - the heart of the believer, that’s beautiful..
