I used to believe breastfeeding is a no brainer. What is there to it - mother produces milk, baby consumes milk. That's that. What is there to learn? Breastfeeding classes seem like some dumb elite thing for suckers.

But there is so much of breastfeeding that isn't intuitive. There is so much about the anatomy of breasts we don't know. I did not know that there were milk ducts close to the armpits. I did not know what to do if the baby is not latching or unable to suckle. I did not know when and how often women need to pump to prevent mastitis and other infections. I did not know that teething babies shouldn't bite or graze the nipples with their teeth and that you can correct a teething baby to latch painlessly. I did not know that when first milk is pale and watery and that the latter milk is thicker, fattier, and most nutritious.

I wish that all these were taught in school and not some secret knowledge that you had to pass down mother to mother or pay to learn. And I don't think only mothers or women should know this. It seems like common sense most people should know to be supportive partners, friends, or parents.

I never said breasts are for milk only. I said breasts are not ALWAYS sexual. There is a time and place for everything. And if someone does not understand that then they have not grown up yet. What next - all doctors checking the cervix for dilation for delivery are just finger f**king their patients?

I don't think you understood what I said. Sure, context matters. But baring your vagina and nipples without context is sexual, right? Here in this photo, Sonam is deliberately striking erotic poses, baring cleavage, and thighs which have no relation to announcing pregnancy. There's no rocket science here that's so hard to comprehend.

I agree with all this. But Healthcare system/insurance is there for a diff purpose. Hiring a lactation expert takes money. And hiring a full-time lactation expert for problems which occur in one in several thousand women of childbearing age is an investment most systems won't want to make. It's not life threatening, and it doesn't cause significant morbidity in vast majority of women. Therefore, it's got to be out of pocket pay. I realize it sounds not very empathetic. But resources are limited and need to go to what threatens life first, then to what makes life difficult before going to what makes life not perfect.

Of course my parents and younger sibling would find it obscene but they’re not Sonam’s target audience so none of their business. Nipples (although hers aren’t bare) are only sexual if you choose them to be, that’s not the sole purpose of a woman’s nipples. In this case women should stop baring their legs, neck, feet etc as a lot of men find them sexually arousing. Men and p*** have made them highly sexual. Her outfit is a matter of taste.

Stimulating nipples lead to direct arousal and vaginal wetness. There are proven nerve ends that link nipples to sexual arousal glands in the vaginal area. That's not the same as legs and feet. Foot and leg fetish are not universal. But there's no straight man who doesn't find nipples non-sexual, unless he's specifically seeing them in a non-sexual context, like a doctor checking his patient's nipples. So the comparison is rubbish.

To stay in the news....

People go overboard criticizing her clothing (or lack thereof) and posing choices, other people are outraged that an expectant mother has to face this kind of criticism just cz of her outfit...

It's mission accomplished for her

Not sarcasm.

Everything in life isn't going to be free. People who work to teach you these things need to get paid. Your contention seems to be that health care system needs to pay for it.

Health insurance is there for a purpose. Most insurances do cover it btw. If someone decided to go cheap and buy one which did not, it's not the fault of the system. It's a choice the person made, then she gets to cover it out of pocket.
