Actors don’t need to have loads of money to open a production company. When they open a production company it’s primarily to have control over script, casting, and management of the budget etc. A bigger company still finance their films like UTV, Disney India, or whatever the Bhagnanis own, or even Dharma or YRF. Look at the poster of any of Anushka’s productions. There will be a logo of one or two other production companies there too.

So no, She didn’t do this with Virat’s money.

In 2014- 15 to start a production house and get investors to back a niche film as the first production seems unlikely.

Philauri was her production along with Fox Studios.

Pari was hers production along with KriRaj Entertainment.

That’s how actors become producers be it Bollywood or Hollywood. They are always backed by a bigger company financially.

Yes. For co production you need more investors. And Virat could very well have been one of them. This is not a sexist take. A practical take.
