I have written something similar, covering almost the same issues in another post. Copy pasting it here.
Goenkas have always been slow on the uptake when it comes to sensitivity. I don't know about the previous seasons since I haven't watched so just talking about this one. During Arohi - Abhimanyu drama, they were clueless about what Arohi was doing, how she was cornering Akshara, guilt-tripping her and how Akshara was swallowing her tears, pretending to be happy... So in a way what happened today was consistent with that behaviour. It's a combination of smart kids with good acting skills and clueless grandparents.
Yes, makers are recreating a lot of things, this time showing that things are going to be different for Abhira this time around. Personally, I would've preferred they skipped this mandir scene recreation but I see the necessity of this drama.
Arohi's mental state of mind where they were going together, why she was acting like a crazy hoodlum (crazier than usual, I mean) - we will know only tomorrow so I'll wait until after the episode to comment on that.
Arohi doesn't have any attachment towards Abhimanyu. But
1. She sees him as the best and sees herself as the best. So two bests should end up together.
2. More than that, he is the guy who not only rejected her, never even gave her a second glance - for her looks or her intellect but he also dared to choose Akshara, the half-sister Arohi never even tolerated. He not only chose Akshara, he also knows Arohi well enough to NOT trust her and is forever shielding Akshara. That kind of a blow to her ego - Arohi can't let him walk away.
Whitewashing her character is not that easy. I mean, makers can show her all falling apart with PTSD for real but viewers ain't gonna trust her and neither is Abhi.
