Well, I don't agree when someone expects me to be okay with something that they wouldn't be okay with it if I did.

Should breathing be banned?

When we breathe we take in all the oxygen and release carbon dioxide which is not good for us.

So in conclusion people should stop breathing.

Why just Holi ban every Hindu Festivals cos these are the only ones causing all kinds of pollution, wastage and disharmony! Unlike mass massacre of animals and cutting of Christmas trees which promote environment, humanity and inclusiveness.

The things I get to read here

Vegetarianism, atleast in India is very much possible. Its cheaper, healthier and better environmentally.

Kahaan cheaper hai bhai? 😆 Market prices are so high these days that it's almost the same whether you eat veg or non-veg. Earlier Paneer used to be so cheap compared to chicken, now you get 500 gm of Paneer for Rs.265 and one Kg of chicken in Rs.220. And this I'm talking about quality products, market mein toh chicken is even more cheaper.

Petrol se lekar sabzi tak, the only thing cheap in this country is opinion and gyaan jo sab free mein dete hai. 😆

Why people are so much ready to pounce on one another's religion at every drop of hat 😵

1. Holi is fine if it's played dry & with non toxic herbal colours. No need to ban the whole festival. Just ban wet holi & toxic colours.

2. Animal sacrifice is not done on Eid only. I am a Bengali & "পাঁঠা বলি" (sacrificing goats while worshipping) is a very regular occurrence in Durga Puja & Kali Puja. If that's fine, Bakra Eid is fine too.

3. Animal slaughtering is not new, neither a thing to vilify. Humans are omnivores, not herbivores. Consuming meat just maintains a food chain. Liking or eating meat is not a crime & neither it should be.

To answer the topic maker, No. There's no need to ban Holi. We should stress over promoting safe & all natural dry holi. That's all.

It's all good to read but you'd feel differently if you face this situation yourself😆

Some years back, I was going to office the day before Holi & some kids threw a colour balloon at me on road because... hey! it's holi tomorrow! I was upset & surprised that even their parents weren't scolding them for throwing colours at random strangers. But imagine my situation, I had gotten ready for office, in a good formal wear because I had an important presentation that day & I had to catch the train I usually do to reach office in time. I was stained in colour, had no time to go back home & change & I had something important to do where appearance does matter. It was a very embarrassing day for me. I was very upset & even now I don't think it was wrong on my part to not like what happened.

Holi or no holi, at least you should ask the person whether they want to be coloured before throwing colours at them. Kids are too young to know this themselves but parents should teach them to limit it among friends & relatives only.

1) Holi is fine as it is, it doesn't need to be dry. Emissions from vehicles, Industrial waste, livestock contribute the bulk of the greenhouse gases. Holi on 1 day will hardly make a difference to the global carbon footprint. Would be surprised if its 0.0000001% even.

2) People are moving away from that. Symbolic sacrifices are becoming the norm.

3) Its not a food chain or natural when you're raising these animals in dreadful conditions in pens/confinements, feeding them their own shit, genetically manipulating them for more meat/produce. These animals go through absolute hell & pain.
