Would you go to a protest fighting for the rights of Palestinians being evicted from their homes and bring a placard of “improve lives of migrant workers being mistreated in Qatar”? Or would you choose that platform to highlight the treatment of LQBT+ people living in Palestine and how they face up to 10yrs imprisonment for sex?

No-one is denying other atrocities exist, you just need to learn to read the room.

No-one is denying other atrocities exist, you just need to learn to read the room.

This is not a world stage or a protest....this is a forum where people can put forth their views....at no time have I ever said anything against the movie until this happened...no one in their right mind would be saying anything against the KPs.....but I am against giving the political mileage of their plight to a very polarizing PM and party and its shameful...I can understand that the supporters of this Govt cannot or rather do not want to see what the movie team did....but others can.....it was selfish and a huge disrespect to the plight of the KPs.

EDIT: BTW I just told you of one story....there are a 100 others...all horror stories...please do not undermine the horror and plight of those who have lived it or living it...

It’s not a Sridevi vs Madhuri topic where two things can be compared. I wouldn’t want to go to a Ranveer/Salman/Varun topic about an upcoming movie and read “SRK roxxx” in the comments each time. The principle still stands.

Unbelievable....that you just compared the horror stories of the KPs and the horror stories of UP to Salman and SRK....that is the limit of whataboutery.....but chalo koi na......jaake pair na phate biwai...woh kya jaane peer parai...

After the Russia Ukraine war....and the pouring of love and sympathy for Ukrainians (rightfully so) ....people all over the world are questioning ...about why the same concern and love was not shown when Palestine or Lebanon or Syria were bombarded......the questioning of SIMILAR atrocities doesn't undermine the plights of any of the concerned parties.....but it is bound to come up.....it happens everywhere...so no use crying yourself hoarse over something happening in a thread in India Forums....when it happens everywhere and is very natural..

But I do understand that supporters of this Govt want people to shut up about UP...

Of course the supporters won't find any logic in a view that goes against the narrative of this Govt...not surprised..

Why is it a big deal that the makers met the PM?

He is the prime minister of India.

This movie is about India and how the Indians suffered a genocide.

What is wrong in meeting the PM and asking him for his support and encouragement? That too such an important film.

And FYI, Do you think Manmohan Singh would have even allowed the makers to meet him, when he himself invited the terrorist Yasin Malik? (Bitta in reel).

Stop being ridiculous with your Whatsapp knowledge. This was 2006 when the MMS Government had invited all separatist leaders of Kashmir to give up Arms & initiate a peace process. This included the Huriyat, J&K Liberation front. He had also asked them for help in nabbing the dangerous/extremely violent Lashkar. He was basically asking the small fish to become army khabris. It's called diplomacy. Many sources before & after the meeting have mentioned this government initiative in detail, including Yasin Malik himself. Why would a PM meet a separatist leader in broad daylight with media present otherwise. This is why nobody takes RW Trolls seriously.
