Of Tough Love!
Being loyal, devoted to your cause , hardworking and forgiving person is absolutely great, but not at the cost of one’s own self worth or so much so that it destroys you completely! This is Aryans’s POV.
He explains to his sister too, Sati ki pratha chaligayi… but Imli is still working devotedly on her divorce ( she is clearly ruining her life for Ex Husband and his family) which AKT did not even try to work on his marriage with her! Resigning with 3 words , she just burnt her career and he heard her she is going to run after the 2 employees he sent away ..
if you think about it ,she is not making sense - they could be anywhere … how is going to do this ? Why ? Why is she still responsible? Because Aparna says so ? We all also agree this is bat shit crazy !
At this point Imli has completely thrown her life away and all the aspirations she was working on for herself and her Amma - the real one ! But Aryan remembers his promises to her Amma .. and this guy gets his way hook or crook !
Even during all her pleading for T family with him, it’s he who realizes that she is treading in downward spiraling path- which leads to her in tears , more begging ,dull , all joys in her life zapped and there is another side where she can achieve her goals and ambition and be successful, happy , gregarious- this is the point where the wheels in his brain picked up gears IMO- and he figured out Imli is in desperate need to have a family ( sense of belonging) / relationship tags .. that’s why she is still stuck with T’s .. they are the only ones that were her’s when she was married and even now after divorce!
Moreover he can do only so much to guide her / help her as a employer/ mentor/ friend… your spouse is your true 50-50 partner, this bond brings in changes that other relationships don’t … there is pull / commitment to it that you have submit to ( And works equally/both ways - for both husband and wife )
The difference this time is the hero is doing it for his lady love and not for his family (although he is making it look like for her ) you see if he straight out tells her the truth , she is not going to listen , she hasn’t to date , so some arm twisting here! But he is ready to hear her conditions … he is meeting her midway and not completely forcing her …. The poem in the end (which was beautiful between) is his exact reason … he is ready to be the bad guy if the end result is good .. he wants to make a Rathode out of her and not suffer as Tripathi ( because honestly that’s how she has been there so far , miserable)
Our parents do use tough love on the child so many times when there is no other solution… they can’t see us self destruct, while I do know here he is not her Daddy (pun intended) that’s what the makers are trying to project here. Guy is in love too … his dream while hospitalized has been the trigger too , he is on jet speed ever since … you see the makers are turning new leaf/chapter on Imli’s life - Aryan undoing all that happened to Imli , tootke pyaar karega, uska dil bhi padega, phool bhi laakar deega… and he has attentively listened to Imli listing all the hak she couldn’t get from her previous marriage when she was taking to Seeta Maiyya- now he needs to check off that list too !
Gul needs to bring in Forced Shaadi concept - there is something about it that’s her favorite trope/kink (I feel at this point 😏) but this time her hero is not screaming Shaadi Karo Mujhse- varna BHOOM!!!!! Thank god for small mercies !
