Yaar, main mazaak kar rahi hoon - it's not even a real sleeping pill, it's basically Benadryl in pill form.
Which is why it is making mind fuzzy for Wordle but not actually putting me to sleep😡
(And anyway I wouldn't use Scotch, I'd chase it down with snow🤣 - IM KIDDING, OK? Don't you love my immature sense of humor, guys?🤣)
We really have to petition IF for a pukish reaction and definitely an eye roll one 🙄

First of all, thanks for elevating the discussion, Indira 😆
I was just saying this to Roch (gadbad_ghotala) - sometimes the movies just evoke different feels than the book.
Book 5 was Order of the Phoenix right? That's was also my least favorite movie.
The only book I can think of right now where the movie was better than the book is Fight Club. I couldn't get through the book.
Some adaptations don't fit the exact narrative of the book but will fit the mood and I think those work well too.

No haven’t read the novels….but from my experience..we are often disappointed when watching a movie that is based on a good novel..because due to time constraints…so much of the novel is not shown in the movies..I experienced this with the Harry Potter movies…especially book 5 ..I think it was ..really enjoyed the book..was my favourite of all the books and then was so disappointed with the movie as it omitted so much that I really enjoyed in the book.. But with a series..the director has more time ..so he should be able to give us more..however I suppose the writer who rewrites the story for the movie /series needs to also be able to adapt it well so people still feel the connection to the movie/series that they felt to the novel…🤷🏻♀️

I had kind of guessed that based on some earlier hint/foreshadowing (I don't remember the specifics now, maybe because it was implied she might be suicidal...).
ETA: OK I remember why I guessed - goes back to the book. It's implied all the supernatural stuff, like the writing on the wall and all addressing Eleanor, was Eleanor herself using her latent telekinetic abilities. So the idea was that Eleanor's subconscious was warning herself through the haunting messages. I think that's why I thought the Bent Neck Lady was probably a future version of Nell who had fallen from a height and broken her neck (like the bride in the book) and was haunting/warning her.
I watched a lot of very visually gross horror as a teenager - Exorcist, Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Evil Dead, Nightmare on Elm street, that sort of stuff. So I'm pretty insensitive to physical jump scares😆
Psychological horror is what gets me. Something about holding someone's hand for comfort and then finding out it was some apparition or paranormal entity you were touching just sends shivers down my back.
Did you watch Flanagan's Midnight Mass by any chance? Be curious to know what you thought of it.
I didn't like Midnight Mass because i wanted horror genre and I got vampire lol.
