No haven’t read the novels….but from my experience..we are often disappointed when watching a movie that is based on a good novel..because due to time constraints…so much of the novel is not shown in the movies..I experienced this with the Harry Potter movies…especially book 5 ..I think it was ..really enjoyed the book..was my favourite of all the books and then was so disappointed with the movie as it omitted so much that I really enjoyed in the book.. But with a series..the director has more time ..so he should be able to give us more..however I suppose the writer who rewrites the story for the movie /series needs to also be able to adapt it well so people still feel the connection to the movie/series that they felt to the novel…🤷🏻♀️Originally posted by: Intoxicator
I had your exact experience - really enjoyed Midnight Mass but disliked his adaptations of Hill House and Bly Manor (based on the classic novel The Turn of the Screw). Have you read the novels? For me the issue was he ruined the essence of both books…
