I know there are a lot of topics currently running with questions on Adilie relation, I thought I will post a separatethread so it is easy to find.
I have noticed a lot of misconceptions regardingAdi and Adilie relation, so, I thought I will summarize it for new viewers.
Please note, I am writing it from memory, I don'thave enough time to cross reference everything, so please forgive the mistakes,and some sequence might be not in order.
And another major thing, few things that weresaid earlier in the show were changed later.
Like Adi and Malini met in college and Adi wasimmediately smitten by her, later it was changed to Malini became Adi’s bestfriend after Nishant left home, and Adi misunderstood friendship to be love.
Dev abandoned Meethi for Malini while later itwas changed to Anu emotionally blackmailing Dev to stay with them using Malini.
The story starts off with Dev going to PD forinspiration and he meets Meethi there and they have an affair and Dev leavesPD. Not knowing that Dev is a married man with a child, Meethi continues tobelieve and love him and waits for him. Satyakam is Meethi’s step-mother’snephew. Step-mother hates Meethi, Satyakam who is in love with Meethi, protectsher and considers Imlie as his daughter. the betrayal of the city man, makesSatyakam prejudiced towards all city people and other issues in the village,make Satyakam a rebel leader who is termed a terrorist by the government. Imlieis raised by two strong figures, Meethi and Sathyakam.
Adi and Malini are in a 7 years relation where itwas implied that due to work commitments Adi kept procrastinating the marriageand Malini being the understanding girlfriend. Adi's family adored Malinibecause even after being from a very rich and influential family, she chose themiddle class journalist, and she had bonded with his family members. Malini'smother was against the relation as she didn't like Adi's middle class status.
It was implied that Anu belonged to a very richfamily and she still married the struggling artist Dev for love. Dev’s PD tripand his love for Meethi made Anu a bitter and vindictive woman. Anu suspectsDev of having an affair in PD though she is not 100% sure.
Before the engagement Adi goes to PD to interviewSatyakam and runs into school girl Imlie, who had just got her scholarship.Imlie is a very ambitious girl who wants to go to the city and finish herstudies and become a police officer so she can clear Satyakam's name and give abetter life to Meethi. Imlie never wanted to get married. She is a devotee ofSita Mayya.
Though, Imlie and Adi have arguments, Adi is kindof intrigued by Imlie that he keeps clicking her photos. At the village fare,Nakli Nani sells Adi a diya for higher price and finding out about it, Imliegoes to Adi. Seeing her, Adi assumes that she came to ask for more money andtalks rudely to her, and Imlie gives him balance and tells him that Nanimade a mistake with the price and defends the honesty of the villagers.
Later, Adi gets kidnapped by Satyakam thinking heis a spy but Adi ends up saving Satyakam from the police. Around that time,Imlie starts calling him Sherhri langoor and Adi calls her Jhalli. Andsome time then Adi hurts his foot.
Imlie realizes that Adi is a good man when hesaved Satyakam and starts thinking highly of him. Adi through an interview withSatyakam finds out about how Meethi was cheated by a city man and Imlie has leda hard life. Satyakam leaves the village and asks Imlie to take Adi to meetsomeone and show around PD.
While Adi is in PD, Malini gets restless andkeeps worrying that Adi is going away from her. When Imlie comes to pick upAdi, Malini overhears Imlie's voice on the phone and is insecure. Malini asksAdi to bring her something from PD that will show that he thought of her in PD.
Adi and Imlie are friendly to each other andImlie asks him about Delhi and Meera Bhaagh where her father is. She tells himabout her wish to go to city for a better life for her mother.
Adi finds out about the sindoor of PD which issupposed to be very auspicious, remembering Malini's demand, Adi wants to go tothe temple to buy the sindoor for her. There the sindoor falls onImlie.noticing that it is going to rain, Imlie asks Adi to head back tothe village but Adi insists on spending more time there.
The rain starts and Imlie gets restless andworried and when Adi tries to calm her, she tells him that if a girl stays outat night in her village, it will cause problems. Hearing that, Adi decidesto take Imlie to her village and he cycleswhile Imlie sits at the back, due to hisinjury he is unable to ride and the rain worsens. Seeing a hut, Adi suggeststhat they stay there till the rain subsides.
Imlie talks about her dream to Adi and theyspend the night in the hut. Next morning, a mob headed by Nakli Nani (NN) accusesAdi and Imlie of being immoral. Adi steps up to protect Imlie from the angrymob. Meethi tries to defend them but she is also restrained. The Sarpanchinstigated by NN says once Meethi caused shame to their village,they will not let that happen again and demand that they get married. Adi andImlie refuse. They threaten to kill them. Adi is ready to die rather thanbetray Malini. When they are about to kill him, Imlie steps in to save himand says she is ready to marry him.
Adi is furious and Imlie's wish about wanting togo to the city plays in his mind. They end up getting married. Imlie tellsMeethi about the girl Adi was about to get married to in Delhi. Meethi requestsAdi to take care of Imlie.
All the way to Delhi, Adi is angry with Imlie andkeeps saying what he is going to tell Moon who is waiting for him.Imlie says that no one will know about their marriage, at a dhabba.Imlie removes all her marital signs.
In Delhi, Adi drops off Imlie at a rescue home,after Adi leaves, one of the villagers sent by NN catches Imlie and tries toforcibly take her back saying Adi abandoned her, Adi comes back and protectsImlie and says that Imlie is his wife.
Adi takes Imlie to his house. SeeingImlie everyone asks who she is. Adi is silent and Imlie quickly saysthat she had come there to work. Adi says the villagers forcefully sent herwith him.
Adi tells Imlie never to enter his bedroomand never to forget her place as long as she is there.
A jewellery is missing at T house and they accuseImlie for theft. Adi remembering the diya incident vouches for Imlie'shonesty and the jewellery is found. T family apologizes to her. Imlie startsbuilding a relationship with each member by helping them out. Badke kaka (BK)realizing that Imlie is a bright student, starts giving her tuition.
Anu finds out about the girl from PD that camewith Adi and is immediately suspicious of her. Because of her hatred for PDpeople she instantly hates Imlie. She tries to instigate Malini against Imlie.But malini and Dev bond with Imlie.
Imlie keeps away from Adi as he is rude toher. He keeps telling Imlie that "hum moon ke the, hai aur hamesharahenge."
She makes moti roti and not knowing Imlie madeit, Adi loves it. Later, he plans a date with Malini and decides to take foodfor her. Imlie makes moti roti for Malini while Adi cuts for thesalad.
Soon, Adi's and Malini's engagement preps starts.On the engagement day, Imlie leaves the house in hope to find her father,but gets caught up with some kidnappers/traffickers. Adi leaves his engagementfinding out about the gang and he goes to cover it. There he sees Imlie, and hefights to save her. Adi and Imlie are taken to the police station and they arepraised for their work. A constable accidentally pushes Adi and Imlie furiouslypushes him for treating Adi like that. Both Adi and Imlie are arrested.
Adi is scolding Imlie for going off likethat and how dangerous it is. Imlie tells him that she had gone to find herfather. Adi feels bad for her hearing that, Malini comes and bails them out.
Adi and Malini get engaged.
Adi tells Malini about the forced marriage andshe faints hearing that. Adi takes Malini to the hospital and calls up home forhis wallet. Imlie answers the call and Adi hangs up without explaining much toher. Thinking Adi is hospitalized, Imlie hurries to the hospital. Doctor tellsAdi that Malini is weak and not to cause stress to her. Adi tells Malini thathe was joking and he can never marry Imlie. He compares Imlie to dirtstuck on shoes. Imlie overhears that.
Seeing her, Adi tries to explain to her but Imlietells him that if there is faith it is a relation otherwise it is just athread.
The wedding prep starts. Imlie ends uphelping with everything and Adi is disturbed, when Aparna makes Imlie try outthe ring for Malini to check size, Adi insults Imlie and says Imlie can neverbe compared to Malini. Adi tries to make Imlie leave while his family bondswith her, at a point Adi is too rude that he calls her a naukrani and Aparnaroyally blasts him for that,
Aparna needs honey to make something for Adi.Imlie and Bk goes to the market to buy honey. Hearing the overpriced rate,Imlie fights with the vendors and threatens them that her friendis award winning journalist Aditya Kumar Tripathi. Adi hears it. Imlie climbsup a tree to extract honey from a bee hive. She gets honey and they gohome. Only Adi notices that Imlie got stung by a bee and he gives hermedicine for it.
In a bid to get Imlie fired Adi hiresanother servant and sunder comes to T house, Imlie and sunder are foreverfighting.
Satyakam comes back and finds out about Imlie'swedding and he is furious. The villagers are regretful for what they did.Satyakam calls Adi to speak to Imlie and Adi is furious thinking Imlie gave hisnumber to Satyakam. Hearing the family calling Imlie for some works, Meethiassumes that Imlie is accepted by the family and is adored by them. Satyakamand Meethi decides to visit Imlie.
All the function for Adi and Malini marriagestarts, and symbolically things happen with Imlie and Adi gets even morerestless and disturbed.
Malini's cousin shashank comes to attend thewedding and for mehendi he puts alcohol in the drinks. Imlie ends updrinking it and she in a drunken state calls out Adi for his high and mightyattitude. Due to the mehendi girl unable to come, Imlie ends up puttingmehendi for Malini. In drunken state Imlie kind of messes up. When Anustarts shouting at Imlie, Adi figures out that Imlie is drunk and exposesShashank's prank. Imlie corrects Malini's mehendi and makes a properdesign.
Adi tells Imlie that he has arranged for someonefrom the office to come and take her to her village during the wedding.
On the wedding day, Aparna sees Imlie's weddingsaree and asks her to wear that for the wedding. Adi is confused about goingahead for the wedding but in the end he decides to go ahead with it. He seesImlie in the wedding saree and he is disturbed and angry. Aparna gives Imliethe sindoor for the wedding and asks her to keep it safe.
Satyakam and Meethi reach Delhi the same day.
Shashank tries to rape Imlie and Adi leaves thefunction midway and saves Imlie, Anu slaps Shashank and kicks him out.
Imlie asks Adi for her rights as hiswife. Adi furiously blasts her and accuses her. Then he says he is done hidingthe truth and he will tell everyone and he knows his family will stand by himand not her. As they are about to tell Aparna the truth, Aparna talks about howhappy she is about Malini becoming Adi's wife. Hearing all that,Imlie decides to not reveal the truth. She lies.
Finding out Satyakam is in Delhi, police comelooking for him and the wedding is interrupted. Imlie sees Satyakamand Meethi, she lies to them about how she is happy and loved by Adi's family.Noticing them. Adi diverts the police from that side to protect Satyakam. Meethiinforms Imlie about her plan to stay with her for a few days, hearingthat, in a bid to make her leave, Imlie insults her. Satyakam and Meethiare hurt seeing this change in her and they leave sad.
Adi having heard this, talks to Imlie and tellsher that in her young age she is thinking a forced marriage is a real thing.But realizing that she can't go back, Adi tells her they she can stay on at hisplace.
Malini's dupatta is ruined and Imlie givesher wedding dupatta and gives her her PD sindoor toMalini . Adi and Malini getmarried.
For the mooh dikhai function, the makeup artistfor Malini is unable to come and T family asks Imlie to get Malini ready forthe function. Imlie dresses her up like a PD bride. Seeing that, Adiremembers Imlie as the bride and he is disturbed and tries to get Malinito change her make up but Malini refuses. He accuses Imlie for doing itpurposefully.
Inside Adi's bedroom they find a cockroach andAnu makes big issue. So T family, shifts Adi and Malini to another roomfor their suhag raat. Unaware of that, Imlie having no place to sleep thatnight, ends up sleeping in front of their bedroom.
Adi gifts Malini a shawl. Hearing Imlie outsidethe bedroom, they go to check. Malini tries to get Imlie to come to their room but she refuses. Noticing Imlie shivering, Malini goes to the bedroom.Adi accuses Imlie of doing it purposefully. Malini comes back and givesher the shawl Adi gifted her.
Adi is furious and inside the room hefights with her for giving the gift from him to Imlie. Adi and Malini goes tosleep pissed with each other. Imlie overhears this and leaves the shawl outsidethe room and ends up sleeping in the courtyard.
Next day, Imlie is sick and Adi asks her whyshe didn't use the shawl and Imlie tells him that she doesn't want anythingof Malini's. Imlie is taken to the hospital and Malini ends up giving her bloodas they have rare blood group.Anu hearing that Imlie has the same blood groupas Dev is suspicious.
They come back home. Malini makes Imlie sleep intheir temporary bedroom. Adi not realizing this, lies next to Imlie and hugsher thinking she is Malini. Imlie experiences “emotion sickness” for the firsttime. when realizing that it is Imlie, Adi blasts her while Malini laughs itoff and tells Adi that Adi’s bedroom is cleaned up and they had shifted to thatroom.
Malini realizing BK is teaching her, tells herthat she needs to join a college. Imlie tells her she plans to docorrespondence. Malini suggests that Imlie go with her and Adi to C house asthey were going there that day before they left for honeymoon and Malini willgive her old books.
Anu insults Imlie but she handles it. Adi gets acall from his editor saying that the minister is meeting with the rebel groupin PD and asks him to cover it. Adi cancels his honeymoon. Malini isunderstanding and they head back to T house.
There they find out that T family has bookedtickets for Imlie too so she can meet her family and come back with Adi.
Adi tells Imlie to take all her stuff as he willexplain everything to Satyakam and she can stay back with her family.
Imlie leaves T house and forgets hermangalsutra there which ends up in Malini's hand. Malini on phone asks Adiabout it, and he brushes it off but is furious thinkingImlie purposefully left it there for Malini to find.he accuses Imlie andImlie tells him that she didn't realize that she left it behind.
At PD Adi tries giving Imlie money for working athis home. Imlie asks Adi how much it is and Adi tells her rudely thathe will keep sending her money. Imlie tells him that even she owes them money.She speaks about rent, food, BK teaching her etc. Adi is hurt hearing that andtells her that his family did all that because they love her, Imlie tells himthat she did all the work there assuming it to be her home, when Anu keptcalling her a naukrani she never felt she was one. But his this action willmake her a naukrani. They go their separate ways from there.
Imlie meets Meethi and realizes that Meethi issick. Finding out about Adi staying at the lodge, the whole village goes to Adiand apologizes to him and requests him to come and stay with them. They keepinsisting and Adi is unable to refuse.
Imlie requests him to not reveal, anythingas Meethi is not well. They make them do marital rituals. Meethi asks forImlie's MS and Adi informs that she forgot it at home. They make Adi tie asacred thread to Imlie and they perform marriage rituals again. Adiis furious and helpless while Imlie tries to make the villagers stop. NNis suspicious of Adi and Imlie but SK shuts her up.
Adi is angry with Imlie but still asks her tohave her food as she needs to take medicines.
At night, the villagers decorate a room for Adiand Imlie for suhag raat. Imlie is taken to The room with milk and onlythen Imlie realizes what was happening. Seeing this, Adi loses it and insultsImlie and says that she is trying to get him by spending the night with h8m.hesays that if he spends a night with her then their lie will become truth and hewon't let that happen. If he wants he will take his family and disappear butwill not let her succeed in her plans.
Imlie has enough and she furiously shuts him up.Asks him to tell her one thing that happened according to her wish. She remindshim that at the end of this night, it is a new morn8ng for him but it will bedarkness for her from now on, once the villagers realize that he never acceptedher Then that is the end of her future. They will not let her leave thevillage. She reminds him how she had asked him to go back to the village thatday and how he had insisted on staying on. She tells him, she never blamed himfor what happened and he never considered her innocent for what happened.
Adi leaves that night inspite of Imlie tellinghim it is not safe to leave then. A fight breaks out between the police andrebels. Imlie finding out about it, goes to save him. And saves him. Adiasks her why she saved him and Imlie tells him that she saved him for Malinididi and his family. They go back to village and Adi and Imlie are both silent.
Meethi asks Imlie about the girl Adi was supposedto marry. Imlie feign sleep to avoid answering.
Next day, a puja is performed and at the end ofit, Adi has to say the name of his wife, and Adi says "moon." Thevillagers are furious hearing that, demanding who is Moon? and Imlie liesthat Adi calls her moon. Adi leaves from there. Imlie gives him stuff for tfamily and Adi refuses to take them. Before he leaves, he is asked to meet theschool students and speaks to them about career.
Adi tells them journalism and says about how atruthful man is at times forced to lie. Imlie's teacher hands Adi Imlie'scertificate where it is written "Imlie Aditya Kumar Tripathi."Adi asks Imlie for the stuff she packed for t family and he leaves.
NN instigates one of SK's man that Adi left Imliebehind. He tries to go after Adi and Imlie tries to stop him, she ends upgetting shot.
Adi finds out about Imlie getting shot, andhe goes looking for Imlie. He finds Meethi trying to take Imlie to the hospitaland a policeman stopping them, realizing their relation to SK. Adi blasts thepoliceman for stopping his wife and warns him that he is a journalist. Meethitells him how Imlie got shot. Adi tells Meethi that he will take Imlie tohospital and asks her to go help SK.
Imlie falls unconscious and Adi panics.Imlie wakes up and they call each other shehri langoor and jhalli. Adi struggles to take Imlie to the hospital and she faints again. By then anambulance comes, and Adi is panicking and worried about Imlie while theytry to revive Imlie.
Adi tells an unconscious Imli that henever asked for it but taqdeer has given him her responsibility. Last fewdays, he has realized that he can run away from his responsibility but nottaqdeer. He doesn't know if he can ever nibao the relationship but he willnibao her responsibility. And she should nibao this responsibility withhim. If he can't leave her responsibility behind then she can't leave thisworld also.
Imlie wakes up. Adi calls Malini and informs herabout Imlie being shot and make arrangements at the hospital. Imlie asks him toremove the marital signs as the family would be there. Adi is distraught andcrying while he removes all the symbols.
Adi And family pray for Imlie. T family acceptsImlie as a Tripathi. Later, Adi meets Imlie and tries to apologize to her.Instead Imlie tells him sorry. She tells him that she didn't want to come back,she wanted to stay on in PD. Adi says he knows that. He tells her, everytime they try parting ways, kismet brings them back together.
imlie says that forced marriage is like a baddream, it is up to them to accept it as the truth or a lie. She has accepted itas her truth. she has thought of abandoning the sindoor and MS many times, butPD, parampara and SM stops her. she is from PD where the men can never leavethe soil and women can never leave her sindoor. She is from the land of SitaMayya who amidst all difficulties never abandoned her sindoor. Adi tells herthat she knows he can only be Malini’s. Imlie replies she knows that. for himMalini is his wife and for her he is her husband.
Adi asks her when he can't give her the rights,respects or place as his wife, why is she still holding on to it. Imlie repliesshe is good in calculations but there is no calculations in relationships. Adisays he can never accept this relationship and he will never stop her fromaccepting this relationship.
From then starts the next phase of Adilierelation, where Adi considered Imlie as his responsibility. And he is fiercelyprotective about her and defends her against anyone.
The hospital hands over Imlie’s suhagan kanishanis. T family is curious about how it is with Imlie and wonders why it iswith her. Adi tries to brush it off, but they still ask Imlie about it and shelies that it is a PD ritual.
Dev comes to meet Imlie at the hospital, andImlie asks him to write a letter for Meethi. Seeing the address, Dev realizesthat Imlie is his daughter.
While Imlie is sleeping, Adi visits her and evenkeeps a framed photo he had clicked of Meethi and Imlie during his first PDtrip.
Adi and Malini come to take Imlie home and Imliethanks Adi for saving her life saying that “Aaj Imlie hai tho aapki wajai se.”Adi is also very caring and considerate towards her.
Malini plans a welcome home party for Imlie butAdi is against it, as Imlie needs rest. While everyone is dancing, Imlie alsostarts dancing and she gets pain in her wound and Adi scolds her for being sostubborn. Everyone starts noticing Adi’s concern for Imlie and tells him to notbe so hard on her.
T family gives Imlie her kona with mattress anddecorations. Adi gives Imlie her sita maiyya that was left behind in thehospital. Malini keeps it in T house puja area.
Adi wins an award. And at office, in his thankyou speech, he speaks about Imlie’s contribution in his success without takingher name. Malini plans with the family to decorate their bedroom to surpriseAdi. Imlie makes an excuse and doesn’t enter the bedroom. Malini is eagerlywaiting for Adi and she wants to hold his trophy first. Adi comes home andMeethi calls him to speak to Imlie. Adi goes to Imlie. After speaking toMeethi, Imlie decides to give her present for Adi as they are alone. She giveshim the shagun ka sikha that SK gave her. Adi asks Imlie whether she wants tohold his trophy and gives it to her. Malini is upset to see that.
She fights with Adi and reminds him that she hassupported him through out his career and it is her success too. Adi grovels andpacifies her. Malini gives him a silver coin as her gift. Adi holds both thecoins and realizes that he needs to value both the coins.
It is savitri vrat and Imlie decides to fast forAdi, and she steals his left over apple and Adi questions her about it and shelies to him that she is not fasting. When T family is away, she breaks her fastbut they come back early and catches Imlie with sindoor. Anu creates a sceneand asks her whose sindoor she is wearing. T family says Imlie might have doneit out of her bachpana. She is about to wipe off the sindoor and Malini stopsher. Anu warns her that, in the house where sindoor is considered a play thing,soon sindoor will become a joke there.
Adi is hurt by this and he confronts Imlie aboutkeeping vrat and lying to him. they argue and Adi asks her how he can believethat she is not doing all this intentionally. He feels guilty for having to lieto Malini like this and live in constant fear of the truth coming out. Finally,Imlie says that she can lie to everyone but not to SM and SM knows that Adi isher husband and it is her responsibility to fast for his long life. she askshim not to stop her from carrying out her responsibilities. He tells her, whenhe has no control over his life, how can he give her permission or not give it.he tells her that he lives in the fear that their this fake relation mightsnatch all the real relations from his life.
Next day is Malini’s first day of work afterwedding and Anu sends her a car. Adi is offended and questions Malini on whyshe doesn’t want to go on his bike with him. Malini tries to defend her motherwhile Adi says he doesn’t like her mother sending car like this. They have afight.
Adi and Imlie are back to being friendly aftertheir fight while Adi and Malini’s fight gets stretched. Imlie plans with Tfamily to sort out their fight. She gets them to the terrace, and Adi andMalini are still fighting after their attempt. In the end, Imlie says a poemabout her husband saying Malini wrote it. Adi is touched and he hugs Malini.Seeing that, Imlie imagines Adi hugging her and she is confused and restlessabout why she is having such thoughts.
Adi tells Malini that, in the 7 years that theywere together, she has told him countless times I love you, but her this poemmade him feel her love for the first time and none of her I love yous touchedhim like the poem. Malini gets restless hearing that and she asks Imlie aboutthe poem, and Imlie lies that she had heard it in PD.
T family go to a mall for shopping. Imlie goes toa shop and the salesman insults her. she tells him her friend is famouspatrakar Aditya Kumar Tripathi. But the guy kicks her out. Seeing Imlie upset,Adi asks her about it but she doesn’t tell him. Sunder tells him what happened.Adi takes Imlie back to the store and tells the salesman that he is thepatrakar Imlie told him about. He blasts him and threatens to write about theway they treat the customers and speaks highly of Imlie. And he gets a kurtafor Imlie. Coincidentally Malini gets the same kurta for herself. Malini issurprised that Adi got her the same kurta. Adi tells her it is for Imlie andasks Malini to give it to Imlie. Malini gives it to Imlie and tells her thatAdi cares for her.
Editor Saab and wife is coming home for dinner.Adi asks Malini to make cake for them if it is possible and he asks Imlie tomake Moti Roti. Due to a misunderstanding, Imlie sends away editor saab and hiswife and mistakes a group of saadus to be his boss. She gives them Malini’scake and they finish it off.
Realizing Imlie’s blunder T family sort it out.Editor saab also takes it sportingly but Malini’s cake is over. Malini is upsetand angry about it. she complaints to Adi about Imlie’s action but Adi says itis okay, Moti Roti is still there, so not to worry. Malini says it is notnecessary everyone will like it, and even she doesn’t like it that much. Adisays people’s tastes changes and not to get tensed up about it.
Editor saab and wife love the moti roti and theypraise Imlie for it. Malini is not very happy about it. Imlie tells them thatMalini’s cake was amazing and because of her they couldn't have it.
Malini plans to stay at her place for a day. Anuin a bid to confirm whether Imlie is Dev’s daughter, tells Malini that shewants to apologize to Imlie for her behavior and asks her to bring her over. Malinitakes Imlie to her house. the moment, Adi steps into the house, he unknowinglystarts missing Imlie and starts unconsciously searching for her around thehouse. he finds out from Sunder that Imlie was invited to C house. Adi isfurious and questions Aparna for sending Imlie there when Anu keeps insultingImlie.
Anu makes Imlie do the housework and seeing that,Malini helps Imlie with the work. While Malini is in the kitchen, Anu has herkitty party and in front of Dev, she makes Imlie do demeaning work and insultsImlie about her father. Dev is about to tell her about Imlie being his daughterwhen Adi walks in and blasts Anu for her behavior. Malini comes out hearing Adiand confronts him about insulting her mother and Adi is unstoppable and he accusesMalini for bringing Imlie there to get insulted when she knows how her motheris. Adi in his fury, unconsciously calls Malini “Miss Malini Chaturvedi.”Finally, Imlie stops him and tells him that Malini was helping her and had gotinjured too. Adi is regretful and apologizes to Malini.
Malini is upset with him, at this time, Adi getsa call from Aparna informing him that Nishant is coming home. Malini decides togo back to T house. Anu gets hurt and Imlie decides to stay there to take careof Anu. Adi is against it but Imlie insists. Adi scolds Imlie and tells herthat Anu always insults her. Imlie tells him that Anu keeps insulting her andhe used to say the same thing to her. Anu’s words didn’t hurt her like his did.even now he keeps scolding her but now it is out of love.
Next day, Adi goes to pick Imlie from C house andAnu video calls Malini showing her, Adi and Imlie sitting on the bike, andtries to instigate her against Imlie and her intentions. Malini defends Adi andImlie. During the bike ride, Imile is getting jittery with the closeness toAdi, Adi realizing she is feeling uncomfortable assumes that she has motionsickness. Imlie hears it as "emotion sickness."
On the way, it rains and Imlie gets Adi to enjoyrain for the first time. at home, Nishant seeing them coming together, assumesImlie to be Adi’s wife. Adi tells him Malini is his wife and Imlie feels alittle bad. Adi and Nishant tries to catch up on each other’s life. Adi wantingto share about what happened to him in PD, starts to tell him and stopsrealizing Imlie doesn’t want him to share it. Adi tells Nishant that he willtell him about it when someone as involved as him in the incident, feels likesharing it. nishant doesn’t probe much as he is also hiding about his cancerfrom Adi.
Malini makes Kaada for both Adi and Imlie sincethey were sneezing after the rain. Malini forces Imlie to finish her kaada. Adibrings half of his kaada and asks Imlie to drink it. Imlie tells him that shealready had and Adi thinks she is lying and makes her drink it. Malini seesthat and asks about it. Adi tells her that he heard Imlie sneeze and gave halfof his khaada for her. Malini is offended that Adi thinks she wouldn't makeKaada for Imlie and tells him that she also cares for Imlie like he does.
Since, it is been 10 years since nishant leftfamily. Imlie reintroduces the family members to Nishant by imitating them.everyone asks Imlie to imitate Adi. Imlie gets Sunder to act as her. they areacting when Adi hears Imlie calling out her own name loudly. Curious he goes tocheck on her. he sees her imitating him, and he is amused while family noticingAdi, tries to signal Imlie about his presence. Sunder noticing Adi, startsdoing weird actions to point out Adi to Imlie. Imlie doesn’t understand and continuesto think Sunder is overacting as Imlie. Imlie screams “How many times have I told you not to make mistakes? You never listen.I have told you not to show your face to me and never to enter my room.”
T family is shocked to hear that. they asks Adi whetherit is true. Realizing what she said, Imlie lies that she just simply said that.Adi tells the family that he had told her that. Aparna and Pankaj scolds himand tells him that when he couldn’t refuse the villagers from sending Imliewith him, how could Imlie fight against them. the family remembers the timeImlie refused to enter Adi’s room before.
Imlie is upset and apologizes to Adi for speakingwithout thinking. Adi tells her that truth is like sun and it cannot be hiddenfor long. All he can do is hope that no one loses anything when they find outthe truth. No one gets hurt. He is scared about the family finding about thetruth from someone else. He says today she was not wrong and he was tired oflying to the family. He didn’t want to add one more lie and that is why he toldeveryone the truth. He asks her to stop crying and tells her that he said thathe didn’t like her but that was before. Imlie asks what about now? Adi ishesitant and the family comes there at that time asking whether he apologized.During the conversation, Imlie finds out that it is valentine’s day and theydecide to have a party.
Adi notices a tear in Imlie’s clothes. Adi getsher a red salwar and leaves it on Imlie’s bed. Sunder finds it and questionImlie on it. Since Sunder can't read or write, Imlie tells him that her friendgot it.
Imlie wears the salwar and T family asks her whogot her the gift for valentine’s day. Adi is shocked to hear Imlie takeSunder’s name. everyone teases them. Imlie had told Sunder that if anyone asksher who got it for her, then she will say that Sunder got it for her.
Adi confronts Imlie about it, Imlie tells himthat if it was any other day, then she would have told them that he had got it.Adi says that her lie made an innocent thing wrong. He says, he knows Maliniand she will not misunderstand or have any issue with it.
Malini finds the bill for the salwar in her room.she is furious and suspicious and confronts Sunder about it. Sunder lies thatwhile cleaning the room it might have slipped out of his pocket.
Adi goes back to the party and he dances withMalini with major PDA. Imlie ignores it and sees a depressed Rupi trying tokill herself. Imlie stops her and tells her that, she needs only herself tolive her life.
Nishant faints and they call the doctor. Imlieoverhears the doctor and Nishant talk about his leukemia. When Imlie asks himabout it, he lies to her that it is not a serious illness.
Malini confesses to Adi about finding the receiptand being suspicious.
Meethi calls Adi and Malini answers the call andfinds out that it is Imlie’s birthday. They plan a surprise party for Imlie.Adi is against the idea of them acting about not knowing it is her birthday.
Imlie sorts out the narazgi between Nishant andBK. Because of that BK has to go to market with Nishant. Adi ends up having totake class of Imlie then. Seeing the way Imlie solves the math problems, Adirealizes how intelligent Imlie is.
Malini informs Adi that as a birthday present shegot Imlie application form from her college. Adi tells her Imlie is too smartand she deserves the best college. Malini argues that her college is good andclose to home. Adi says if she has to stay away from home to study in a bettercollege then she should. Malini is offended that Adi thinks her college is notgood enough. They again fight.
Dev and his mother, who knows that Imlie is hisdaughter gifts Imlie a gold chain. Anu is furious and creates a scene forgiving Imlie a chain and not Malini. They inform her that they got the samechain for Malini too. Anu is furious that they think Malini should havesomething that Imlie also has. Adi is furious and tells Imlie to return thechain. Malini forbids Imlie from returning the chain as it was a gift by Dadiand it will be insulting her. Adi and Malini argue regarding that.
Imlie goes to her kona and cries. Malini asks Adito console Imlie. Imlie is heartbroken and shares her pain with Adi andasks him whether she is “sadak ki dhool.” Adi is very hurt and regretfulhearing that. he apologizes to her for his mistake. He says he had wronged hera lot and everyone told him that but he never accepted it. he tells her now herealizes it and he wants to rectify his mistake. He asks her to close her eyes,and leads her towards his bedroom.
As they walk, Malini follows them behind. Adistops in front of his bedroom and asks Imlie to open her eyes. Adi tells her hedidn’t get her a birthday gift and now also he is not giving her a gift, he isasking for one. A chance to rectify all his mistakes and get a new beginning.Imlie happily accepts. Adi tells her to walk in. Malini who is happy seeing it,when she notices Adi and Imlie stepping into the bedroom together, sheremembers the words her Dadi told her the previous day when she was telling herabout the issues in Adi’s and her relation. it’s about when a new bride entersher home for the first time, the husband and wife step in together with theirright leg. The first step together, signifies that both of them will walktogether through out their lives. Malini is disturbed seeing that.
The next day, Malini has gone for a day trip fromcollege. Imlie happily enters Adi’s bedroom to clean. She chit chats and jokesaround with Adi. Adi seeing her look through books is filled with guilt for hermissing out on her studies. Adi gets a call from office asking him to cover astory about a bridge collapsing and college bus meeting with an accident. Adirealizes it is Malini’s college bus.
T family panics. Adi decides to go to the spot.Imlie insists on going with Adi, as she thinks Adi won't be able to handlehimself. Adi takes her with him. he is concerned about Malini but he tellsImlie to not interfere with the rescue operation. He helps around, asks aboutMalini and starts covering the news. Dev also reaches the spot. Imlie goeslooking for Malini without telling Adi.
Adi finds out that another part also collapsedand the police puts strict restrictions. Adi looks around and realizes thatImlie is not with him. he panics and tells the police that he has to go in as agirl is stuck inside. Dev also hears Adi say that Imlie is inside. The policetells Adi that he can't go in. Adi panics and screams that his wife is stuckinside.
Imlie finds Malini who is stuck under a boulderand she saves Malini. Malini is unable to move and a stone hits Imlie and shefaints. Malini is lying there helpessly when she notices Adi running in. shecalls out to him. but Adi neither hears or notices her. he almost jumps overMalini and picks up Imlie and leaves. Malini is shocked seeing that. Dev savesMalini.
The media covers Adi carrying Imlie. They comeback home. Malini wakes up and she remembers what happened but she doesn’t askAdi about it even though she is very hurt. Anu makes a big issue about Adisaving Imlie and not Malini. Anu and Adi argue and Adi says that he can takecare of Malini.
At night, Adi makes turmeric milk for both Imlieand Malini. To make Malini feel better he plans a movie date in the room. Hetakes Malini’s milk to the room and leaves Imlie’s in the kitchen. Imliethinking that it was made for Malini takes it to the room and sees Adi andMalini talking and saying I love you. Imlie is hurt seeing that and she startsto leave. When they hear the sound, Adi goes to check and Imlie tells him thatshe came to give the milk. Adi tells her that he made two, one for her and onefor Moon. Imlie is happy to hear that. Malini realizing that Adi made it, shegoes to check whether he turned off the gas.
Adi makes Imlie drink the milk. Seeing Imlieupset, Adi asks her what happened. Imlie walks off without replying. Adiwonders whether Imlie got upset seeing Malini and him, then he brushes it off.
Adi wants to write a story on the bridge collapseand Editor Saab tells him that the contractor is close to a minister and isvery dangerous. He discourages Adi from writing it. Adi argues that the bridgecollapse had killed many people and his wife was also trapped inside. EditorSaab is concerned about writing that story. Adi is confused. Imlie encourageshim to write it.
Adi follows the story. Imlie is preparing for herentrance exam. Nishant bought a car and to celebrate T family goes out forlunch. Since Imlie has exams, Malini asks her to stay home and study. Adi comeshome for something and finds Imlie alone and struggling to study. He tells herthat she is over stressing and she needs a break. Tells her that he will dropher to the restaurant on his way.
The family meets Anu and Dev at the restaurant.They all sit together. Adi and Imlie goes to the same restaurant wherethe contractor is having a meeting. Adi and Imlie act romantically there as Aditells Imlie his plan to keep a recorder near the guy. Anu shows Malini, Adi andImlie romancing. After they gather the information, Adi and Imlie come out. Anuand Malini confront Adi. Anu is furious about Adi’s closeness to Imlie. Adi isvery disturbed.
On his way back, Adi tells Imlie to forget thismarriage. go ahead in life. concentrate on her career. She needs to accept thathe is not her husband. She should have a family of her own. a husband of herown. Adi tells her that he will tell SK and Meethi. He will tell Malini also,and he is sure Malini will also understand. Adi tells her that she is hisresponsibility.
Imlie stops him and tells him what he thinks afavor for her is an insult for her. she tells him that she never forced thisrelation on him and never considered his relation with Malini wrong. Then howcan she consider her vishwas wrong? She tells him that she will not stay in hishouse anymore. she will stand on her and show him. but she will not marryanother man. Adi tells her that he wants to change her that mind set. Imlietells him that he can neither make her his Radha nor Rukmini but he cannot stopher from being Meera. She tells him that she will go away and they will nevermeet again. Adi tells her that she is misunderstanding him. Imlie tells himthat he never understood her. Imlie tells him that when she leaves his home, heshould not stop her or come looking for her, then it would be difficult for herto go away. Adi gives up and they head home. Adi and Imlie are very hurt aftertheir conversation. At night, Imlie leaves T house without telling anyone. Adigoes to office to publish the story.
In the morning, Adi on his way back from officegets kidnapped. Imlie witnesses it. she along with the police rescue him. Adisees Imlie but due to her promise Imlie hides from Adi. Adi keeps looking forher.
At home, everyone realizes that Imlie left home.Adi, Malini and Nishant goes to the bus stand to look for her. Adi finds herand asks her to come back home. Imlie says that she doesn’t want to stay withhim. Imlie shares her pain with him and says she can't stay there. Adi pleadsher that they will find a way out and asks her to come back. Adi is heartbrokenand devastated when Imlie tells him “she saved his life because he had savedher life. baath katham rishta katham.”
Adi is gets back home and is hurt and unable tofunction properly. He catches a corner of his bed and is unable to toleratewhen Malini even touches him. Malini is hurt by this. Imlie reaches PD andcalls T house. Adi answers the call but Imlie asks for BK and doesn’t talk toAdi. Adi is hurt. Later, Malini complains to Adi about Imlie’s immaturebehavior of leaving without telling anyone. Adi blasts Malini and tells her ifImlie wants to go then let her go.
Adi is unable to work also. Adi decides to go toPD. He finds out that the whole family is planning to go to PD to bring Imliehome. Adi stops them making excuses. He lies to them that he is going for anassignment. Malini wants Adi to stay with her. Adi insists on going. Malinicreates a big scene in front of the family. Malini tells him that she needshim. Adi says that he has to go now and promises that when he comes back hewill be a better son and husband.
In PD Imlie meets her best friend Prakash (Pari).Pari is the adoptive son of SK. He loves Imlie. Imlie bumps into Adi when hereaches PD. She asks him to go back. Adi asks her to come back with him and sherefuses. SK sees Adi and takes him to Meethi’s home.
Meethi is happy to see Adi. She tells like unlikelast time, they won't force him to stay here. If he is more comfortable at thelodge then he can stay there. Imlie says he will stay in the lodge. Adi askswhy he can't stay with them? Meethi is happy hearing that.
Adi keeps asking Imlie to come back, but sherefuses and starts preparing for her exams. Adi is pissed and about to leave atnight when Imlie to stop him mis-pronounce words and Adi stays back to teachher. Adi realizing that there isn’t enough food for three for them, makesMeethi eat with him and eats only little. Meethi asks Imlie to eat from thesame plate. Imlie asks why should she? Meethi tells her that it will increaseAdi’s life. Imlie asks back will he eat from the same plate as hers? Adireplies if it is for her long life then he will eat it. Meethi is happy hearingthat and tells Imlie that she has not got a husband, she got a saajhidaar.
Next day, Adi gets bitten by a snake. Realizingthat Imlie will miss her exam if she finds out about it, Adi picks a fight withher and sends her off. Imlie senses something wrong and comes back and by thenAdi has collapsed and fighting for life. Imlie takes care of him and prays forhim. Adi in delirious mode tells Imlie that he has to tell Moon. Meethi assumesthat Adi is speaking of Imlie.
Later, Adi wakes up and realizing Imlie missedher exam, he asks her to go for her exam. Imlie tells him that time is over andshe won't be able to get in. Adi tells her that you have to fight for yourrights and if kismet has written something in your name then no one can takethat away from her. he takes her to the exam hall. Pleading and requesting hemanages to get Imlie to write the exam even after the grace time is over. theinvigilator asks Adi why he fought for the village girl. Adi tells him that sheis my wife. Imlie hears that.
On their way back, they again talk. Adi asks herto come back. Imlie refuses. Imlie asks him whether everyone at home knows thathe is here. Adi says he lied to all and to Moon too. Imlie tells him thatMalini might be worried for him. Her sindoor gets on his shirt and when shetries to remove it, Adi tells her not to so when he sees it he will rememberher. Imlie tells him that she is planning to do a puja for him as he has beenhaving accidents. Asks him if he can stay back for a day. Adi happily agrees.
Imlie ecstatic that Adi is staying back andinforms Meethi and Pari. Pari is not happy. Seeing Imlie happily dancing Adi ismesmerized. Malini calls him. Adi speaks to her and unable to say I love youwhen Malini says it. He has a conversation with his conscious/alter ego thatAdi has started lying to himself. Adi justifies that Imlie did a lot for himand his life. his conscious asks him why he came to PD. Adi says to end whatwas started in PD. His conscious reminds him that Imlie ended things before shecame here. His conscious reminds him how he had missed Imlie when she went withMalini to C house. how he gets restless when Imlie is not in front of him. hehas forgot to live without Imlie. tells him that Adi is a rock and Imlie israin, and Adi has become completely drenched by the rain. The girl that hedidn’t want in his life, has made a place for herself in his heart. Adireiterates that Moon is his wife and only she has place in his heart. hisconscious reminds him that he hasn’t thought of Malini in the last two days.Why he never felt restless like he feels when Imlie is away from him? he callsImlie his responsibility and now has forgotten all his responsibilities. He hascome to sort out this confusion. Adi says it is a lie. His conscious tells himthe truth is that Imlie is your love and Malini needs to know the truth. If youafter knowing this truth, continues to keep Malini in the dark then that is thebiggest dokha to Malini. His conscious, calls Adi “Babu Saheb” and tells him tokeep lying to himself while he accepts this truth and he goes close to Imlie.Adi imagines himself dancing with Imlie. Adi continues to deny the truth.
In Delhi, Malini has a break down worrying aboutAdi and she creates a scene and ends up leaving T house.
During the puja, Imlie attempts to do the pujaalone as she knows that Adi doesn’t like it. when the pundit ji insists thathusband and wife should do it together, Adi steps in and does the Puja withImlie. During the Puja Imlie is asked to tell her full name. When Imlie justsays Imlie. They ask her to mention full name. When she hesitates, Adi says hername is “Imlie Aditya Tripathi.”
The Puja is done and Imlie is happy. Everyoneasks her to dance. Seeing her dance with Pari, Adi is jealous and he joinsImlie and they dance togetherhappily.
Imlie has to stay up at night to keep a diaburning for a ritual for their marriage. Adi insists on staying with Imlie.Imlie tells Adi that the dia is her vishwas. Imlie goes to get water and thattime NN pushes the dia down. Seeing that Adi takes the burning wick in hishands.
Meanwhile in Delhi, Adi and Malini’s weddingpicture catches on fire and Malini goes crazy and is uncontrollable in herpanic and fear.
Imlie seeing Adi holding the burning wick askshim to throw it but he refuses as it is Imlie’s vishwas. Imlie transfers thewick to another dia and puts wet sand on Adi’s palm and holds tight. Adi isunable to let go off her hand.
Next day, Adi is waiting for Imlie to havebreakfast while she is busy. Seeing her joking around with Pari, Adi is filledwith jealousy. In a bit of jealousy Adi tells Imlie to marry Pari. NN overhears it. she informs the villagers about Adi and Imlie acting as a marriedcouple. Imlie tries to defend but they don’t believe her. Adi comes and tellseveryone that Imlie is his wife and he will not tolerate his wife’s insult. Hesays their marriage was forced but staying with Imlie is not his majboor, it ishis marzi and adaat. Staying with Imlie is his zaroorat.
Imlie walks off and Adi follows her apologizingto her and begging her to forgive him. Imlie is angry and she tells him she isnot going back. Imlie informs him that when college starts then she will stayin a hostel. Adi keeps begging her but Imlie remains adamant.
Imlie walks off and gets harassed by neighboringvillage men. They are about to take her sindoor when Adi reaches there andbeats up the men furiously claiming Imlie is his wife.
It starts to rain, and Adi and Imlie who hadwalked away from the village, takes shelter in a home. Adi is mesmerized to seeImlie without any There they talk and Imlie tells him that their drama iscoming to an end and from now on he doesn’t have to act as her husband. Aditells her, for him it is not an act to be her husband. Imlie says it doesn’t matter.Adi tells her that it matters for him, the one person who knows him inside out,thinks wrong about him then it matters. He tells her that it matters to him somuch that when she left home, he couldn't stay in his own home. He tells herthat he came to PD to clear his confusions but after coming things are gettingmore complicated. He says you know in what relationship I am bound in, I alwaysthought this was a fight between right and wrong, and I have finally realizedthat it is a fight between love and responsibility.
Adi tells her that he couldn't be a good husbandto her or… he requests Imlie for a promise, whether they are together or nevermeet again, please always remember that he is always thinking about her andasks her to promise him that she has will never forget that she has made aplace in his heart. Imlie promises him. Adi is relieved and thanks her. Imliewants to hold his hand but hesitates. Adi initiates the hug and they hug forfirst time.
Next day, they go back to village and Adi invitesthe villagers for lunch. Because Pari is Imlie’s best friend, Adi requests Parito come for lunch. Pari is rude towards him.
NN ruins Imlie’s clothes and Imlie ends upwearing Adi’s shirt and jeans. She is hesitant to come out and Adi is worriedand asks her whether it was because of the hug, and she says it is not. Seeingher dressed in his clothes, Adi is amused and surprised. Adi puts a rose on herhair as Imlie was worried that she looks like a boy.
At the same restaurant Dev comes to meet Imlie andreveal the truth to her. SK sees Dev and kidnaps him. he is about to kill himwhen Meethi arrives. Meethi finds out that Dev was married and had a daughterwhen he had come to PD. When SK is about to kill Dev, Meethi slaps him sayingDev is Imlie’s father and SK leaves angrily. Adi overhears them talk andrealizes that Dev is Imlie’s father. Seeing the way, Meethi had waited for Dev,Adi has a dream of Imlie also waiting for him for 19 years.
Imlie comes there and Adi takes her away. As theytalk Imlie says it is easy for people to go away from her. Adi reminds her thatit is not easy for him to go away from her. it is Imlie who is adamant aboutstaying back. Imlie says it is a matter of her pehchan. he requests her to comeback with him. Imlie asks as a naukrani? Adi is shocked and reminds her thatshe is not a naukrani. He lists out all the qualities of Imlie. Imlie isshocked that Adi had been noticing her all this while. Adi is about to tell herthat he loves her and Imlie stops him and tells him that only Malini has therights to hear that. She can never take away Malini’s right. she tells him thathe has to go back to Malini.
Next day, Adi goes back to PD. Both Adi and Imlieare heart broken.
Adi finds out about Malini leaving T house andgoes to C house. there Malini hasn’t eaten anything and is weak. Adi brings herback to T house.
Imlie is missing Adi and unable to stop herselfshe calls Adi from Pari’s call. Adi who is about to give malini her medicine,forgets about the medicine and answers the call. Since Malini is in the room,he is unable to answer Imlie’s questions and Imlie understanding hangs up.
Malini is suspicious and after Adi sleeps, shecalls up Pari’s number and asks whose number it is. Pari asks her back, who sheis and she tells him she is Adi’s wife.
Pari confronts Imlie and Imlie tells himeverything and tells him that Adi loves her and she loves him. she makes himpromise that he will not tell anyone the truth.
Unable to stay away from Adi, Imlie goes back toPD. In morning, Adi calls up PD to speak to Imlie and finds out from Meethi thatImlie is on the way to Delhi.
Pari proposes Imlie and she rejects him. At thebus station, Imlie is shocked to find Adi. She refuses to go home with him.Pari intervenes that he is there for Imlie. Adi tells him not to interferebetween husband and wife. Pari asks which wife? Malini? Adi is shocked andImlie tells him that she didn’t tell anyone anything.
Adi tells Pari that he knows what Pari’sintentions are but Imlie is Adi’s wife and she has the first right on him. Pariis just her friend and Adi is her jeevan saathi, and it will always be him.
Imlie refuses to go back with Adi, even BK seesImlie at the bus station but she refuses to go with him. Imlie joins a hostel.T family is sad about Imlie staying in hostel.
Next day is holi and even though Adi doesn’t playholi, Malini wants him to put color for her first. But Adi goes to Imlie earlyin the morning. T family is also unable to play holi as Malini refuses to startthe holi celebrations.
Adi meets Imlie in the hostel and asks her tocome back. she refuses. Adi finally gets her to agree to come by threatening thatif she didn’t go home then he will shift to her hostel. Imlie makes Adi promisethat no matter what, the vows that Adi made to Malini during their wedding shouldnot be broken, no matter what. Adi agrees.
Adi and Imlie play holi as they leave hostel. Everyoneat T house is happy to see Imlie but Malini noticing Adi with holi colors, isupset and rude to Imlie.
Adi realizes that what he thought was love forMalini was only friendship. But Malini loves him and he shouldn't hurt her.
At night, Adi tells Imlie to shift to the guestroom, Imlie refuses. They tease each other and ends up running around the houseplayfully. Malini sees Adi running and asks him what he is doing there atnight. He makes some excuse while Imlie hides.
Since Adi Malini wedding photo was burned, Aparnagets a new one made. She asks Imlie to hang it in Adi’s room. seeing the photo,Imlie is sad that Adi and she has no wedding photo and decides to draw one.

Adi talk about thehug and Imlie tells him that she doesn’t want any clarifications from him. she doesn’tdoubt his wafadari. Adi tells her that they need to tell everyone the truth.
