While one can still call whatever he has done out as problematic but how has anything he has done equivalent to SEXUAL harassment?? What did i miss?
Intent and perception are two key things here. Intent doesn't matter, perception does.
Even if a guy touches a girl with so much as a pat on the shoulder without any negative intent, but if the girl does not like it and perceives it wrongly, then that is what matters more because that makes her uncomfortable. This obviously also holds true when gender roles are reversed.
Similarly, two people may exchange a hug without even being friends and be okay with it, depends again on how the person on the receiving end takes it because ultimately, if they're uncomfortable, they need to voice it and put a stop to that behavior.
In the case of these two, they never had any sense of personal space with each other. If we go purely by the boss and employee equation, no employee goes ninja on the boss in the middle of a business party, spears him, interferes in such a critical family situation and still walks away without any repercussions. On the contrary, we had Aryan spending a bomb 6 lacs to bail her out of jail the very next day and then chase her to PD even though she escaped from jail. Aryan allows Imlie that liberty because these two were never really just boss and employee. She also lives with his family, hangs around with them and both Aryan and Imlie interfere in each other's lives.
On the eve of her anniversary, when Aryan asked her to accompany him for the meeting the next day, he clearly told her that he can go with someone else if she wasn't up for it. She chose to go and then broke down midway. He chose to give her gyaan and she chose to accept it. That day, given what she went through and how he supported her changed their equation forever.
Given their equation, they both give and take liberties with each other and, thus, allow the (wo+)manhandling.
Just like in Aditya and Malini’s equation, Aditya allowed the whole marital rape aspect to go because Malini was his longtime friend/girlfriend, even though Imlie created a hue and cry about it.
And we can safely say that Aryan and Imlie both don't go around doing this to everyone. Aryan doesn't treat all employees the same way, manhandling and interfering, so he isn't an abuser. Imlie doesn't allow everyone the liberty to touch her so, as we've seen in her interactions with Aditya post the pardafash. She's been vocal about not being okay with him touching her.
So, in the case of these two, it isn't so easy to simply call it workplace sexual harassment.
