Episode starts with the house on fire. One of the sparklers got fire. Harsh says this is what will happen when Akshu comes into the house, but Abhi puts out the fire. Fire is so symbolic to Abhira’s relationship, because Akshu has always saved Abhi from fire. It has always brought them closer in one way or another. This was again symbolic of the adoption kaand or whatever kaand will happen during the wedding, because Abhira will solve it together.
Akshu calls Abhi but Manjari takes the phone and says he will call later. Manjari gets upset with Abhi, saying she broke her heart and that she is constantly having to choose between her husband and son. I felt really bad for both of them. Harsh shows no respect for Abhi’s feelings, so I completely understand his outburst. But, Manjari, is the one who always suffers by having to take sides. At the end of the day, though, she once again showed that her priority will always be Harsh. She said she won’t come to the wedding without him.
Meanwhile Harsh is roaming the streets drunk chanting Akshu and saying how much he hates her. Some great one liners here. Abhi and the other siblings run out in search of him. Abhi slaps a man for calling his father a drunkard. He is visibly concerned…again, there is so much suppressed love in this relationship. Abhi finally finds Harsh and stops him from getting electrocuted against a wire— again, fire will bring them closer together. Harsh tells Abhi he loves him and Abhi makes sure he is okay — Abhi is teary eyed but stops once Harsh says he hates Akshu. This is the very definition of their relationship. Harsh is so deeply insecure about losing his son to Akshu and so upset that everyone gets Abhi’s love except him. He is desperate to have his son back. But, Abhi, cannot look past how he treats the two women who mean the entire world to him. That is how the strain in their relationship began. Abhi cannot forgive Harsh for his abuse of Manjari. This dynamic is so real to so many families. Tensions and trauma between parents translates to their children. Harsh’s entire world is Abhi, but he does not know how to show it.
Akshu calls Abhi and he is trying to hide what happened. She can tell he is upset and there was a fight, so she tells him to leave everything to god and to go to sleep. She hums lag ja gale and they both fall asleep. This scene was so short, but so pure. It gave me dooba dooba vibes. She is his peace in the chaotic world. I loved how she did not try to explain anything to him or question him.. she saw how hurt and tired he was, so she just helped put him to bed.
Once they were both asleep, Aarohi came in and saw and got jealous. Major kaand loading.
In the precap Akshu asks Harsh why he hates her so much and he says that its because Abhi disinvited him from the wedding, etc, etc… again, to Harsh, Manjari and Akshu are the reason Abhi is distant from him, but he is unwilling to reflect on his own actions. Akshu goes to Abhi and tells him that Harsh has to come to the wedding, and they get into a disagreement and she leaves the office…
