How I imagine Imlie getting love from Narmada.

Also I haven't watched this movie but this scene is such gold. I want every daughter to go into their in-laws house with this much love and respect.

OMG this is beautifullll!!🥺❤️

Quite contrary to the criticism that Adi has been facing for the past 2 epi, he made sense to me. I mean I understand what his thought process was.(don't agree with him) Also, it was the first time I actually watched his scenes, paying proper attention. Never was keen on the character or even the actors playing (old & new)😆 This is merely a discussion on AKT ...and I am not going to post it in the other thread. The principal of that thread believes in zabardasti enrolment (looks pointedly at Pooja)😆

As I was saying..I felt an odd familiarity when watching AKT. And then it struck me that a similar relationship has been show many a time in movies. So this is about AKT, the mentor (not lover/hub/friend). On multiple occasions, AKT has mentioned that he was the one who showed Imlie how to dream/aim high. He has seen the admiration that Imlie has (had) for him ..for his personality, his prof achievements. He reminded me of a strict coach and Imlie as his trainee. Whatever the coach says, the trainee does..cuz the coach knows best. Praise/teasing/criticism/anger..the trainee quietly accepts it..cuz the coach knows best. For her last bday, Adi gives her the opportunity to enter his room. He gives her something which is his.. just like how a coach parts with a prized possession cuz the trainee has earned it. (Remember Virus giving his pen to Rancho in 3 idiots). It is a mutual understanding b/w the two with explicit trust. Circumstances arise and the trainee (Imlie) starts giving in her inputs & questions the coach's ways. Their foundation is on shaky grounds. When Imlie walked away from Adi, he questioned it. Why doesn't she just stick to what I am saying?

Next , he sees that another (Aryan) has taken in Imlie..someone who is on a much more higher level than Adi. Adi knew that Imlie was affected and yet she didnt come back to him. It's your loss, Imlie. I have replaced you with Malini. Imlie no longer needs his advice/ training. Infact, she is moving ahead and doing things much beyond her capabilities. The coach announces that he has terminated his contract with the trainee (publication in the obituary).

All was supposedly going well until the ex- trainee proved herself right. Ok, I am sorry. Come back to me. Imlie didn't make herself clear earlier. Her words were "I have lost faith in marriage".."Our relationship has fallen apart ". Adi always had this grudge against Aryan that his player was snatched away from him. The clue from Narmada was all he needed to confirm his suspicions...Afterall, Imlie's quick progress always seemed fishy to him. That's why Adi's actions these past 2 episodes made sense. It was in sync with his thought process. Be it his Sherlock Holmes avatar in the office...or not giving a damn to Aryan's hospitalization to dousing the fire today. She 'saved' me from Malini..now I have to 'save' her from Aryan...and then we would be back to how we were previously. The guy couldn't have even imagined in his wildest dreams that Imlie would ever say that she is firmly in Team Aryan now.

Unfortunately the mentorship facet isn't exclusive..Apart from Malini, Adi hasn't yet started to process the other factors which had intertwined and played a role in their breakup. As a viewer, we are at an advantage to analyze his actions and its effects on the relationship. Unless he starts losing, he wouldn't be able to retrospect.

This might be the most empathetic take I have read on AKT so far. I agree with *most* of your assessment wholeheartedly.

Given that he is so much more experienced than Imlie, I don't agree that he needs to "lose" in order to understand and introspect on where he fell short of the responsibilities he had assumed as a mentor/lover/husband. You can't be the supposedly celebrated journalist that we're told he is, if he cannot empathize with issues that he's writing "award winning" articles on (without experiencing the hardships). Serious journalism requires that much understanding at least, I would think.

He willingly, repeatedly, forcefully pushed Imlie away. Do I feel bad for his circumstances? Absolutely. Do I think it gave him the right to treat another human being like utter garbage? Hell no.

I will give him this though. He's human. He probably wants to avoid accepting his part in this whole debacle because if he lets himself acknowledge the mess he's made, he may break down in a way that's hard for him to come back from.

But that's all I'll give him.

ends rant.

In no way, was I being empathetic to the character 😆I still don't care about him. That was unintentional 🤣 In my head, I am going tsk, tsk..you remind of me that grouchy coach who thinks he knows everything. What I meant to convey is his actions these 2 episodes wasn't much of a surprise.

He has got his blinders on. You think such a man would actively retrospect on his own deeds? As a journalist, he might have the ability to think logically..but that's for others. A self centered man won't think on his own..It took many episodes and a supposed grand Malini PF to make him even see the other side of the coin. Imlie scoffed at him and turned her back. Then he thinks.. ohh I have to apologize and get her back..that's what I meant by losing 😆

Okay, so IMO, firstly the man already lost when he went against the basic foundation of his character - honesty and integrity. He deleted crucial evidence in an ongoing trial. Where did the ethics and journalistic professionalism go then which he was preaching today?

Secondly the man lost when he went against the core foundation of marriage - trust and honour. He trusted someone else over his wife and publicly dishonored and shamed her and published an obituary defaming her character.

Aditya's biggest issue is he always thinks he is right and whines that hum galat kab the. He is a stuck up stubborn person who refuses to see other's perspective or opinion because he thinks his is always right. He did not treat Imlie as a human, let alone wife. And when he did give her spouse rights, he treated her concerns very casually and demanded she only listen to him, where he only had to do something very simple - listen to her, rather than admonishing her for her age. That's what parents do, friends/partners/lovers are equals.

The simple thing is Aditya is a weak, insecure and good for nothing character. Every attribute that defines him - his profession, his own personality, his family are all faulty and lack substance. Aditya has lost everything, but not once has he thought about what should he rectify about himself. He has no idea where he should begin from. He thinks that getting Imlie back in his life is going to rectify his blunders. Is this some joke? And is he doing a favor by asking Imlie to accept him? Is marriage such a flimsy institution which he never brings himself to respect? Who is he to request anything from Imlie anymore that too on her birthday? He lacks depth and has zero self awareness. What will he retrospect?

@bold...when was this? I don't think I have seen those episodes.

He lost Imlie. Didn't you see how easy he thought bringing her back would be?

@Red..that's why he reminded me of a superior coach ..than a person who treated Imlie as an equal.

Maybe once again, Aparna would have to spell it out to Adi that he has lost. Cuz realization isnt gonna hit him so soon. Afterall, now he has Aryan to blame.

Firstly, I am a big skeptic when it comes to ITV. And with this show, I am. Because, people in this show don't stick to grand statements they make and flip in a matter of the next episode.

I am not placing high hopes on Imlie's trust in Aryan, just because female Jaaniya has been crooned. None of the characters can be trusted. I will just let Atif uncle do what he does best, rather than screwing my mind over this marriage. So I do not have anymore theories to offer.

In my opinion, this promo is an overall track to be played over weeks, and one may or may not like the way it goes. I am up for it because well, I get to see Imlie in clothes and not rags anymore. She hasn't really broken through her househelp image yet.

So, let's wait and watch.

Imlie had gathered visual evidence on camera which proved Malini as Aditya's rapist. She had brought it to court and when she tried to show it, it went poof and the case was dismissed due to lack of evidence. And then Aditya confessed to erasing it because AC told them that she had drugged Malini as well as Aditya so that they are reunited, and Aparna was supportive of this, btw. Aparna had said after the rape happened that whatever happened had happened for the best.

Well so Aditya felt that Malini was a victim like him and he did not want her jailed. In the midst of all this, Imlie almost lost her scholarship and seat in college which was saved by the lawyer Kunal Chauhan before his exit. And after Aditya did all this, he was trying to console her doing all puchu puchu like it's just another day in the life of Aditya Kumar Tripathi. He was more interested to make Imlie share bed with him where she had seen him semi clothed with Malini. She was so horrified that she chose to live in that corner of the house till Malini wasn't proven guilty.

Pathetic is the word for this character. That's all.🤢
