The sharth was that BP wanted Abhi to set up a separate home for Akshu after marriage, he didn't want her living in the Birla joint family. He says I understand that you love her a lot, and will always support her and fight against anyone who hurts her but life like that with constant conflict will not be peaceful.. And he says you must be thinking how a man like myself who heads a big joint family is saying this.. But I don't want my daughter to suffer in any way..and most people in your family are against her, they wanted Aarohi for bahu, and marriage is not just between two individuals, it's between two families, so... They will ofc maintain the relationship and get together for all functions etc. but live separate.

And then going back to that article you shared about male friendships not involving an emotional component, the idea of being someone's only source of emotional and moral support sounds exhausting. This will go against my previous post where I expressed outrage at your thinking I'm barely an adult - but... truthfully I'm not even sure I can take care of myself and my own needs at this point leave alone anyone else's 🤣

This is what everyone says. Some people say, children are worth it even if the marriage is unhappy. Like taking a point out of Adichie's, when men say compromise it's like not spending too much time with friends, playing games or less/more work hours whereas in women say compromise it is leaving the career or too much time for carework and household chores etc.
