Mainly because there was no love story. Probably because it wasn't a Gul story to begin with What was the story before Aru got in? A man forever ping-ponging between two sisters? How long can you sustain such a story?

If this was made into a film, say, even with Gashmeer, how would you end it? And no matter how you end it, would it not have left you with a bad taste? AKT is not a good antihero, there's no justifiable reasons for his shitty decisions. When people root for the antihero despite their better judgement is also because they can at least have one singular passion, love. AKT is just a weak, narcissistic, inconsistent man. Plus, the actor needs a certain flair and flamboyance in ITV which turns them into cult heroes, even when the character is subdued. Best example would be Sushant in Pavitra Rishta whose story, I still don't understand.

[Redacted] lacks that. This role was trailor-made for him. The age difference is built into it. But I don't know if he could do the mindless romance thar ITV induces convincingly.

Whilst everyone writes elegies on his acting prowess, it's also important to be able to 'dumb' down chomp down or gobble things according to the medium/role. Irrfan was absolutely brilliant in that regard. He could just eat up roles like he did in Gunday and then could bring out the nuance like in the Lunchbox.

I had never seen Gashmeer or Fahmaan before this show. So being on a neutral ground ASR was anyday 100x better character. In initial dats I was stunned to see people justifying AKT. It took me quite a days to fully get what is happening.

AKT can never be defined as anti-hero. The intensity and aura any anti-hero needs, I never saw. Anti-heroes are not so undecisive or so controled by situation.

Irrfan Khan, you went to very high limits there.❤️(Completely irrelevent, but have you seen Qarib Qarib singlle) but even on tv many actors are there. Like Shaheer Sheikh. He went from Anant to Arjun to Dev without his one character ever shadowing other.

When Adi 'fell' for Imlie, the speed of it and the characterisation made absolutely no sense. When Imlie 'fell' for Adi, it made no sense. Malini's undying love for Adi makes absolutely no sense🤕

I just go with the flow when it comes to this show tbh, I try not to deep it. As long as they don't make Aryan force her into it, I'm meh about it.
