Definitely not. But I'm posing a different thought - what if it was a goodlooking fit actor without the built in fan following of HC? Let's say S2 Kartik/Mohsin started out like this? Would there have been outrage ya usko bhi support karte?

(the touchstone of decency is being violated here - where good looks are causing people to overlook bad behavior. this is why Ted Bundy was able to get away for so long...)

Yeah, I get what you are saying. I think if it was a new actor, people wouldn't be this defensive. Like they would still see reason but won't be so blind and vicious against any kind of criticism, I guess.

(a few years ago I was on the sidelines of a US show forum with a well-known actor and there was a similar level of blind bhakti and knee-jerk viciousness against any detractors. you could not reason with those people either... what causes a person to be so into a celebrity that they will attack other people for them?)

I started watching the show for HC. I've always liked him. I've hardly watched an episode or two of S2 and a bunch of episodes from S1. If not for HC, this show would have been of no interest to me. A lot HC enthusiasts must have started watching the show for him who had no idea about what yrkkh is all about. I got disillusioned pretty quickly but I guess it's difficult for a lot of people to separate their love for HC from the character.

To answer your question, it would have been a thanda season if Abhimanyu would have been played by an unknown actor but the reactions to his antics would have been more genuine. Most of the viewers would have called him out on his behavior.
