the 1994 scene was really good from both their povs

stefans pov:

1912-damon forced him to turn into a ripper which wasnt true stefan agreed to drink human blood and both of them didnt realise stefan could turn this bad as that was the first time he had ripped off someones head damons fault was not stopping him afterwards which damon said he regretted in s3

1942-damon almost pushed him off the rails again because he was needy again it was false damon didnt think the girl could bring a bleeding neck in the bar he was genuinely worried and asked the girl to go

1977-damon left lexi to burn on the rooftop this stefan had a right to be angry about

damons pov:

1912-damon showed stefan who he was which means he didnt intend any of it to happen it was an accident

1942-damon gave him his freedom which is totally true lexi asked him not to go as he was a bad influence and damon put stefan above himself

1977-damon left lexi to burn because stefan himself didnt come to help him stefan knew his humanity switch was off which means some traumatic incident would have happened but stefan didnt come

also in 1864 damon did promise stefan an eternity of misery but those were just words he didnt leave stefan even after stefan was killing everyone in mystic falls he compelled those girls he was extremely hurt and in pain but he didnt abandon him he may have said hurtful things to him saying he would rather leave him to die but before leaving he told lexi to take care of him as he needs its which shows no matter what it didnt change the love he had for him

thats why i think its really complex his resentment is deepened its not just about katherine there are many issues

and sadly julie plague was able to ruin this as well in some seasons(s5,s7)

s4 they were both on really bad terms(elena chose stefan-damon was acting like a child and blood shared with elena)

(elena had feelings for damon stefan blamed it on the sirebond and he went on to force jeremy to kill vampires which grew his mark knowing elena was herself a vampire)
