On one hand we have a movie like Thappad being criticized for divorcing "just for a slap" and KS being glorified as some sort of hero and demi god for slapping and getting slapped back.

Good fing Lord... The fact that so many people like Kabir singh, it's just disgusting but honestly not surprising.
I think it's because they all know it was orchestrated by Jasmine so technically Amrik was not at fault for any reckless driving that caused it, it was infact the guy who jumped in front.
Initially they did think law is the right course but with Jassu's involvement coming to light they might have not given it furthur thought. But it is very insensitive of them to not discuss about the guy or his family at all.
They didn't do any investigation or enquiry about this to begin with. How much they know about Jasmine's involvement? How was it orchestrated? Would someone actually jump in front of a car and die? Is there an actual death or not?
And if there's someone dead, then there should be some mention by them na... About guy, guy's family. Yahan inka apna rona khatam nahin ho raha

Too many loopholes. Stretching unnecessary scenes and speeding up necessary ones. Miss Fateh's match but Jassu makes same entry in 20 different costumes. They don't have proper flagposts for their story anymore.
