Fantastic , Potato might indeed be the best commercial actress of this generation

I felt Alia pulled off the role really well. A lesser actor may not have been able to play the character just as well. The movie seems very different from SLB's past two ventures and that in itself is worth appreciating.

It will be exciting to see the character actors in the movie. Vijay Raaz is clearly in the league of his own. His performance seems spellbinding from the trailer itself.

Alia is totally fine as 16 year old Gangu. But she looks a completely miscast when playing older Gangu like the scene where she's being Jim Sarbh's mom.

I don't think Jim Sarbh is playing her son, in that scene it seems like gangu is getting admission for her daughter to go to school, you can see all the little girls sitting in the background. I think Jim is playing another character

Did people even watch the trailer?😆 because anyone who has watched the trailer cannot ask for Vidya/Tabu/Madhuri in this role😆

What sounds weird to me is the assumption prostitutes have a certain *look.* As though they should all be slightly voluptuous or seductive, mature, strong looking.

And have y'all seen a pic of original Gangubai? Alia fits to a T. Her acting also appears on point, with none of the screechy melodrama you usually expect from SLB heroines.

I don't see ANY resemblance... And Gangu looks like a woman, not a pre teen...

The woman in black and white pic is a BW actor...she is a Madhubala look alike.
