I am sorry the chapter is a little shorter than usual but I know that if I don't post it now then you will all keep waiting for long.

Sai entered the room and found it decorated with roses and candles. Virat closed the door behind her and walked towards her. With every step closer to her she was taking one step back. He wrapped his arm around her waist making sure she stayed stuck to him. Both looked into each other's eyes while their noses touched. Her heartbeats started to race abnormally fast. He teased her by brushing his lips against hers and went down to kiss her neck. She closed her eyes. The kind of pleasure the kiss procured her was so new to her and so out of this world. Breathless, she tried to escape but he stopped her and carried her in his arms. He laid her down on the floor before climbing on top of her. He gently and sensuously kissed her cheek, her lips, her neck before slowly feathering her body with his head to her stomach. He moved aside the pallu of her saree and kissed the bare belly. She let out a soft moan with pleasure.

Sai jerked awake, breathless and soaked in sweat. She looked around her and realized it was just a dream. Virat was in a deep sleep separated by the pillow wall. She was relieved that he didn't hear her moaning in the middle of the night. Disturbed by the dream, she leaped out of the bed and went to the balcony. Staying in the same room with him was too embarrassing. She paced up and down restless. She couldn't understand why she was having a sexually arousing dream out of nowhere. She never thought about such things ever before nor considered this marriage to be a real one. She always respected him but never thought about him romantically.

« Are you sure Sai Joshi ? You never thought about him romantically ? Are you sure that it wasn't just the respect but something else that you were feeling about him ? », her inner voice questioned her. « Close your eyes Sai. », the inner voice continued.

Like an obedient kid she closed her eyes and all the memories hit her back. In all the memories either he was a hero or a gentleman. He saved her so many times and every time feared for her life more than herself. He cried every time he thought he was losing her. She remembered how he always took stands for her be it to support her studies, dreams, wishes, likings and dislikings or to just stop the people from taunting or insulting her. She recalled their beautiful moments during their birthdays, trips, outings and celebrations for which he often had to go against the family. She then reminisced their romantic moments. They had a few ones even though she never introspected about it before.

« What does it mean ? », Sai asked herself out loud looking up. « Feeling that Virat Sir is everywhere, day dreaming about him, dreaming about him in the middle of the day... is it because I am...I am... I am fallling... in love with him ? », she was having difficulties to accept it.

She continued to pace up and down, refusing to accept her feelings.

« I can't fall in love with him. He loves someone else. », she said to herself.
« Are you sure ? Just think about it ? In all the memorable memories you have with him were you the only one involved ? Wasn't he equally happy ? Didn't you ever feel that he wanted more than just a deal marriage ? Didn't he try to get close to you ever ? », her inner voice questioned her.
« He did but how can I forget that he told me not to expect anything from him. Even if he never told me the reason, I know that it's because of his love for Pakhi didi. », she said.
« Maybe he loved her before but he doesn't anymore and is slowly falling in love with you. », the inner voice said.

Sai couldn't sleep the entire night, trying to understand her feelings and what her inner self was trying to tell her. Was she just self encouraging because she was in love with her Virat Sir or was he also falling for her ?

While they were getting ready, his « Sai » made her so nervous that her cheeks turned red. He frowned and touched her forehead to check if she wasn't fiverish. She clutched the dressing table to control her emotions.

« Are you ok ? », he asked confused.
« Ye... yeah. », she lost her voice.

With her legs trembling she was about to fall but he caught her and lifted her up to the bed. While laying her down he accidently touched her stomach. Her heart started hammering as the things were happening exactly like in the dream.

« Is it your migraine ? Or are you having fever ? », he asked worried.

She wanted to tell him that it was him but all she could do was nod to tell him that she was fine. He left and five minutes later came back with her breakfast. He fed her and ordered her to stay in bed. Before leaving for the police station, he requested Ashwini to keep an eye on his wife but Sai being Sai she left without informing her.


The following few days Sai acted weirdly. Sometimes shy, sometimes nervous and sometimes even distant. Virat couldn't figure out the reason of her mood swings. It took her a few days to finally accept her feelings. She was ready to change this deal marriage into a real one if he was also ready for it and for that she started to pay attention to his every actions and behavior.

It didn't take Karishma long to take her decision. She wanted to save her marriage and prove Mohit that he didn't make a mistake by falling in love with her. It was his first day of shooting for the new show. She joined Ashwini and Sai in the kitchen and requested them to leave. She wanted to cook Mohit's favorite dishes for dinner. Ashwini and Sai stared at her confused.

« Since when are you fine with Mohit becoming an actor ? », Sai asked.
Karishma laughed, « The day I entered this house I had to put an end to my dreams and everyone's taunting made me go against my own husband. I forgot that we had the same passion which was the reason we fell in love with each other. By the way thank you Sai bhabhi for always encouraging him to pursue his dreams. »
« Is everything ok with you ? », Sai asked looking at Ashwini.
« Yes ! Now please leave. », she almost pushed them out of the kitchen.

Everyone was impatiently waiting for the food to be served. Kaku was about to lose her patience when finally Karishma came with the dishes.

« Sorry sorry Kaku. », Karishma apologized.
Seeing the number of dishes Bhavani's eyes popped out, « Is queen Elisabeth invited for dinner ? Are we celebrating something ? »
« Yes, Mohit's first day of shooting. », Karishma replied happily.
« Waah waah lucky man. », Sai teased Mohit taking revenge of all the times he teased her and Virat.
« Mala maaf kara. », Mohit begged which made Sai and Virat laugh.
« Maast ha maast. », Bhavani said mockingly. « Does money grow on trees ? And since when do you support your useless husband in his stupid dreams. », she asked to Karisma.

Mohit sighed and left the table. He came back a few minutes later and put a wad of notes in front of Bhavani.

« I always get taunted that I am useless, worthless, I am not educated, I don't earn money, I am eating and living in free. I accepted every taunt and mocking because it was true. Even Aayi Baba couldn't understand me. But as money is all it matters in this family, I have it now. My share of the expenses for me and my wife. If it's not enough just let me know I can give you more. But please, spare me and my wife. Stop insulting us. Don't think that I am showing attitude because I have the money now. I am just tired of being demeaned everyday. Now please, let's have dinner. My lovely wife has cooked for the family without complaining for the first time ever. », Mohit went back to his seat.

Everyone was shocked. Karishma widened her mouth. This was the first time ever he took a stand for her and complimented her in front of everyone. Kaku was too shocked to even react. She was now certain that all the kids were revolting against her. Sonali and Omkar looked at each other shaken by the new Mohit.

« Haan aur sikh aise ghatiya harkatein aapni chahiti vahini se. Aise hi paise phenke the na Virat ke muh pe ? », Omkar taunted angrily.
« The energy you waste on bashing me, Karishma and Sai vahini, if only you could waste that much of energy on defending me and encouraging me to improve myself then maybe I would have gotten the confidence to become someone way before. », Mohit replied with an accusing tone.
« Waah kya baat hai Mohit, you have become a joru ka ghulam too just like your Virat dada ? », Pakhi taunted.
« Patralekha bhabhi thank you for the compliment. It's a universal truth that husbands dance to their wives' tunes which means Sai bhabhi and I are perfectly normal. You on the other hand couldn't make your husband a joru ka ghulam which means the problem is in you. », Karishma said then murmured, « Why would Samrat dada show interest in you when he has a better option like Luna di. »
« SHUT UP ! », Pakhi shouted.
« Don't raise your voice at my wife. », Mohit banged his fist on the table.
« Enough ! Can we have dinner without fighting and taunting each other ? », Mansi requested.

Everyone hurried in silence and went upstairs. Sonali couldn't stop thinking about what Mohit said. He didn't taunt for the sake of taunting. She could sense it that he was disappointed and regretting his upbringing. She went to his room for a conversation. Her heart broke when he mentioned that Ashwini and Mansi did a better job in parenting. As mothers they always supported their sons but Sonali was more interested in pleasing Bhavani. His « My own mother couldn't understand my worth, support me, encourage me, push me,console me. Sai vahini and Virat dada were always there during my difficult moments, they fought for me and taught me how to be stronger and be there for the people you love. I sometimes wonder if you ever loved me. » kept playing in her head.


Karishma woke up in an empy bed. On Mohit's side of the bed there was a box. She opened it and found a new dress with a note. « Dear wifey, I had to leave early today but I want to see you wear this dress tonight and take you out on a dinner date. Happy third anniversary. Your hubby ». She leaped up in excitement and joy.

Virat dropped Sai off at the college and before she could leave he informed her that it was Mohit and Karishma's wedding anniversary. Both at the same time said « Let's celebrate. » and burst out laughing. If both were on the same page then they definitely should celebrate it. They wanted to keep it small so that Bhavani doesn't get angry. On their way back home, they bought a cake and food for the entire family.

Mohit and Karishma came down to the living room fearing how they will react to their announcement of the dinner date but before they could speak Sai and Virat wished them. Sai opened the cake box. Both Mohit and Karishma were shocked. This was the first time that anyone from the family remembered their wedding anniversary or even celebrated it. Bhavani, Ninad and Omkar didn't want to be a part of the drama but Virat stopped them from leaving. He wanted everyone to eat the food he brought and be a part of the little happiness of the family members. Before gathering around the table Virat gave an envelop to Mohit and asked him to open it. It was a weekend trip for the couple. Karishma jumped up and down with joy and thanked him. This was the first time she was getting a gift other than family or religious celebrations and the first time that she will go on a trip with her husband. Bhavani wanted to say a lot of things but she didn't want to anger Virat again. Sonali didn't let it come out but she was emotional. Mohit was right when he said no one ever cared for him apart from Virat and Sai. Even she had forgotten that it was her son's third anniversary.

« Sorry, I think we have to cancel our dinner date and stay with the family. », Mohit whispered at Karishma.
« It's ok. I think I am much more happier with the family celebrating our day. », Karishma replied.
« See I told you. When you value the right people you get the happiness you deserve. », he said.

After dinner and cutting the cake, the two brothers and their wives went to the balcony. In the middle of the conversation, Karishma apologized to Sai for all the times she made fun of her, taunted her or instigated people against her. Sai accepted her apology and decided to start afresh. Pakhi watched them from afar and fumed.

I don't know if Sai's realization was as beautiful as Virat's but I tried my best. The difference between them is that he is happy while she is scared. Can we blame her ? Even if he never told her about his past with Pakhi she knows it already. But fikar not this Sai is smarter than the one in the show. She asks the right questions to herself and introspects.
