To be honest I would have liked to see aarohi working on her self respect after tilak 1. If she had so much ego and self respect she wouldn’t have agreed to marry Abhimanyu. I really wanted to see aarohi as ambitious Doctor rather then running behind a guy.
She compares herself to mahima and then she should have achieved all that on her own not under someone’s provocation. When someone provokes the fire within and the person goes in wrong direction- then the person going in wrong direction is wrong.
Provocation can also lead to positive influence. I would have liked to see Aarohi’s dream of pursuing MD before mahima reminded her.
Aarohi could have been like I will be so successful that famous dr will come to marry me. But here it’s like I want name, power because I am the best. Baki toh sab hota rahega- unfortunately this mindset is wrong according to me. And I am very ambitious person. I have held my ambition before my personal life always. Which is why when people claim aarohi is so ambitious and we love it - I am like 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
There is an inconsistency in the plot there - obviously she was never going to be no. 1 in Abhimanyu's life after what he said at the first tilak. I think there are two things at play with Arohi - one is to be no. 1 and the other is to be better than Akshara. That's the Mahima in her. I still find it hard to digest Mahima went against her own interests by not clearing up the confusion at the first tilak, because her desire to make Manjiri look bad was more important to her than getting her wish of Akshara as Birla Bahu fulfilled. The English saying is to cut one's nose off to spite one's face but the Hindi one (which I don't remember properly) is better - something about hitting one's one foot with the axe something something...
I don't disagree with you (bold) - Arohi's ambition is very shallow. But speaking for myself, as a TV character, I find Arohi more interesting than Akshara and sometimes she speaks for those of us who find Abhimanyu's actions and attitudes problematic so I do love that. I doubt anyone of us would actually want to deal with someone like Arohi in real life. I also wouldn't want to deal with someone like Abhimanyu but I recognize there are plenty of others who don't share my views.
But yeah I can totally see how having her lauded for her ambition can be annoying to an ambitious person when she's not actually putting her energies towards her goals but more towards the trappings of her ambition. (Btw, I have known some pre-med classmates very much like her - right down to wanting to find the husband/wife with the right pedigree😆)
