This dude is such an annoying snob, always bashing old popular Bollywood movies. I bet he loves the low effort patriotic movies and biopics from the past few years though

Also never seen him trash Rohit Shetty movies, meanwhile he took a movie like Main Hoon na (which was supposed to be fun and not realistic) seriously and bitched. Overall a good representation of many Bollywood fans these days I guess

What's snobby about what he said? KKHH was a terrible movie even by 90s standards. KJo himself admits it.😆

Tell you why Rohit Shetty movies are difficult to bash. They don't take themselves too seriously. But the Yash Raj-Dharma camp does. So does Hirani. That silly movie called 3 Idiots is lauded as a game changer . It was an entertaining movie, but the ideas represented were as ridiculous as Zoya Akhtar's in ZNMD.

No KKHH is a great movie, it doesn't claim to be grounded and "intellectual" and that's fine. Actual bad movies are never this popular and don't become pop culture phenomenon. It resonated well with people when it came out and is still remembered fondly by most (apart from snobs). Are you saying most Indians are stupid? Kjo's opinion doesn't count anymore considering he made actual bad movies like Student of the year and ADHM..

Also this annoying dude even bashed Main Hoon Na which also doesn't take itself seriously. And have you watched Simmba or Sooryavanshi? They are pretty damm serious (or is rape or terrorism supposed to be funny?)

3 Idiots is amazing too but of course he bashed it as well. Becoming so obsessed with realism and cheap patriotism (somehow over the top stuff is fine then or else how are movies like Mission Mangal so successful?) is why Bollywood is declining now

You don't have to be intellectual to want less sexism from a movie. In fact KKHH could have the tagline:

...come, watch Rahul fall in love with Anjali's boobs...

OR

...give up your personality and get the man of your dreams, ladies!

OR

...didn't get the man? What use could your degree possibly be?!

There are lots of pop culture phenomena which are problematic. KKHH is one of them.

And I don't believe you got my point about Rohit Shetty movies. He doesn't pretend his movies do anything but cater to the lowest common denominator. Hence it's difficult to trash them. Precisely because a lot of KJo/YRF movies are pop culture phenomena, it is critical to point out the problems.

Heck, SRK himself mocks the movies.

K2H2 was a terrible movie even by 90's standard which became a WW BB and still seduced people décades afterward 😃

Its not problematic at all. Anjali didn't change because of Rahul, she simply grew up and started to wear more traditional stuff and stop acting childish. With your logic Rahul lost his personality too considering how he was the typical brat in college but after the timeskip he is a rather mature father. People change

Its not really problematic at all, hell if KKHH is problematic almost all Bollywood movies from the 90s (and before) and hell even tons of 2000s movies were "problematic". So you want to bash them all?

And SRK has never mocked them (KKHH, K3G, KHNH etc.), he knows they were over the top but that doesn't mean they are objectively bad.

Except Rohit Shetty especially with his last two movies actually tries to tackle serious topics like rape and terrorism (but fails). its not like Fast & furious in that area. The action is over the top but the story isn't.

Also like I said there have been many goofy patriotic movies in the last few years like Mission Mangal but he doesn't bash them either. They take themselves far more seriously than MHN which he somehow still bashed and treated like a serious movie (pointing out the ridiculous scenes).

Like I said typical snobby young Bollywood fan who wants to bash the older movies and act like his gen is much smarter (so he ignores the shitty popular movies of the last 10 years)

Yes, why not? Is it some kind of religion that the movies cannot be bashed?😆 As a matter of fact, why would religion be beyond bashing?

No, he hasn't tackled the patriotism movie that I know of, but he tackles problematic movies which become pop culture phenomena. They absolutely should be.

Back in the day, AIB did a video called Harassment Through The Ages (link below). By your criteria, those movies should be beyond bashing too. Aamir offered a quasi apology for the song. SRK openly mocks the movies he did. Neither is a *young Bollywood fan* who thinks his is the smartest generation.
