I was a big SRK fan till JTHJ. That movie was so bad that it instantly turned me off SRK. Still people are not identifying the biggest problems with SRK's movies. I liked what one person said here about SRK's directors that they mould the character around SRK where it should have been the other way round.
Most of his earlier movies worked because of him, he was the ultimate romance hero, but his recent movies makes him feel like older Rajesh Khanna who refuses to accept his age. And people praising him for Raees and Fan should really see these movies without their rose tinted glasses. Raees can easily be compared to Ajay's Once upon a time in Mumbai and that was a big hit and deservingly so. Ajay was cast as Sultan Mirza perfectly where as SRK's Raees Alam was just SRK playing Raees, also it doesn't help when the movies go against their own logic to glorify the lead actor. And Fan was just filled with loopholes turning the whole vibe 180 degrees. A good thriller has usually been successful in BW but Fan just went haywire. Their was no setup to big shocks. And the less said about JHMS and Zero the better.
Even SRK's amazing acting was unable to counterbalance Anushka's annoying performance in JHMS. Again I heard the protagonist was supposed to be a depressed guy but barring few scenes it was hard to connect with Harry's struggles. SRK is a good actor, he has already proven himself in MNIK, Swades and CDI. I think a good urban story would suit him too, he just needs tighter scripts and needs to stop his interference if it's true.
