My first break up was when I was around 14 I think. I had dated him for a week and then dumped him. I didn’t cry.

This reminds me of my family friend. She doesn’t understand Hindi but watches Bollywood movies with subtitles. When she had her first breakup, she would play the Kal Ho Na Ho song in the shower while she cried. Lol. When she told me this, I asked her if she knew what the lyrics meant. For some reason, she thought the song was about being broken hearted and betrayed by the love of your life. Lmfao. By the time I finished telling her it was more like a motivational song to continue living life to the fullest lest tomorrow doesn’t come, we were both choking from laughter. Safe to say, she shifted to another song. 😆

My first break up is very embarrassing. I didn't know what to say to him and messaged my friend on FB for advice. She wrote me a really long detailed message and I copied and pasted it to him and he took it well. I was so relieved. My friend texted me a week later asking if I received any weird FB messages from her because her account was hacked and she hasn't logged in for weeks.

I’m always that person who writes the long break up or rejection messages for my friends. Once she was having a fight with her BF and was getting me to type up her replies. Then mid-fight, he was like iS tHiS sAmiRA? I know this isn’t my GF. I threw her phone off a cliff and into the ocean, quickly retreating back to my safe corner, only to receive a call from her BF ON MY PHONE. 🥲

I suck at lying on the spot (I need 72 hours to prepare), so I answered his second call pretending he woke me up from a deep sleep at the ungodly hour of 8:03pm. I acted disoriented having no idea what’s going on/what day it is/who are you/what’s my name (Oscar nominated performance). He knew I was talking shit but I was so committed in this performance, nothing short of a gun to my head was going to make me break character. Anyway they broke up eventually but the worst thing was that I had uploaded a story on my social media 30 minutes before I was supposedly in the middle of the deepest sleep of my life. I had forgotten all about it until hours later. 😆
