me too! I didn't know that there were like-minded individuals in the fandom. I had so many thoughts but nowhere to pen them down. so it's a relief to see people other than myself having the same train of thought.
i have never been a fan of the 'jazbaat' vs 'laat' storyline. the first reason is how the judicial system works in the first place. people come to the station, a first incident report is made and the police find the culprit/do the necessary and the case is solved. so how the paperwork or if the case is even officially reported while not big is just like a housefly that keeps buzzing around.
next is the black and white approach they have in regards to the approaches of the two officers. 'jazbaat' attacks the root cause and changes mindsets. 'laat' is a quick relief and as mentioned earlier, instils fear of consequences. both sound equally valid and feasible.
but why do I buy into the latter more? because of who they are- police officers. they want to change mindsets and all by all means go ahead but it shouldn't be done in such a way that any other solution is regarded as wrong. it certainly shouldn't magically change the way of life of individuals in a blink of an eye. they bring up a lot of relevant issues. but when the solution becomes cliche, it loses the touch of reality. and change society? how? your target audience is literally just the family/concerned parties that you are speaking with most of the time. how is that going to change a nationwide problem? so again, loses the touch of reality.
thirdly is because of just how repetitive it is. as I said earlier, it's has become a plot device, not a plot point.
this is something that just doesn't make sense to me. Karishma Singh is apparently one of the most feared faces in Lucknow. but isn't capable of solving simple cases without the inspiration/hints/clues from haseena. initially, she was able to do it (somewhat) but then as the episodes go she is just becoming...incompetent? for the lack of a better word. I was drawn to her because I can relate to her. she does what she feels is right and believes in herself. that's more than I can say for a lot of people out there. but now it's like she herself isn't comfortable in her own skin.
I am not excusing the times she has lied and quite honestly betrayed haseena (one of the reasons I don't buy into the whole "Kareena" are BFFs idea). she has had some really low points, but I liked that she was allowed to be flawed and I can see some sort of growth.
I had high expectations from this urmilla storyline but they were slowly crashing to the ground. now I m looking forward to the revelation and emotional high it brings. fingers crossed, they do justice to all the characters and relationships related to haseena instead of them just giving her teary smiles for being back. I need to see the friction, the angst, the hurt and the disappointment. because if "cheetoshpa" (not including anubhav cause that is a whole other topic) have no reaction other than being happy and shedding happy tears, the claims of being family and loving everyone equally fall flat.
I like how they claim Karishma is ziddi, Arial and hell-bent on her ways but haseena is also the same. she won't compromise her morals or ideologies either. it's her way or the highway at the time. hence, that argument is null and void.
she was ready to leave her job because of her morals but wanted Karishma to stay back when she wanted to quit to manage her personal life. PS. the way hyped up that plot point and just ended it so abruptly along with Santosh's comatose period was so weird I had to write a FF on it.
and I know this ain't going to sit well with the stans but haseena isn't as quick to apologise as Karishma is. the latter does tend to realise her mistakes and seek forgiveness. but haseena doesn't. remember the Abhinav case? she got him bailed but it looked more like an inconvenience than anything else. when she is proven wrong, it's like she doesn't want to apologise because she still believes that she is right (subtle facial expressions).
the hefty focus on her is nauseating at times. she has been suspected of being corrupted nearly 3 to 4 times in the span of 400 episodes. two of those instances were nearly back to back. about why she is always right? star saviour complex I guess. she is a bit of a gul khan female lead.
PPS. this tuned into a rant. sorry!
