I think people who have read my posts on this forum know that Abhay is my fav character and I am deeply hurt these days by whatever I am seeing onscreen but I don't think I have mentioned this that Dr. Ali has been growing on me and today he has become my 2nd fav character :)
Deepika has many strengths but according to me she isn't a great mentor. A great mentor is someone who has the ability to distinguish and identify the strengths different people possess and help them work on it (directly or indirectly) so that they become the better version of themselves...all this while being neutral and in turn unaffected by the process. This trait is wonderfully exhibited by Dr. Ali from the start of Dhadkan....whether its how he has handled Piroz all this while, whether its the way he dissected Wasim and in turn Sia or whether its the unique way he held the competition for the team leader (I loved how he created dummy situations with the timer thingy!)...we see his approach is different but its something with a lasting impression on the interns.
He seems way more sorted, intuitive and experienced in life (might have seen a lot of shit) than Deepika and Vikrant who are probably ace doctors but are unable to keep the balance between their professional and personal life...the result is bad, biased and uneven experiences for their junior residents!
There are many people who can be top individual performers but are bad teachers - even if their intentions are in the right place (which I know isn't the case here) they struggle to impart the lessons needed to be successful people. Dr. Ali reminds me of those people, who probably isn't busy winning laurels and isn't the chief's favorite, but is the one who unabashedly and generously imparts life lessons...helping his interns figure this thing called life while they are busy becoming surgeons.
Like he said today...."Yeh Duniya itni bhi achi nahi hai...ro do yaar". Rulake ya haasake, yeh banda in logon ko bohut kuch sikha ke jaana wala hai and this is what you want in your leader and your boss and why Dr. Ali will be cherished ❤️
