Not necessarily taking a dig at Gungun or Anubhav's family, but definitely observing how both families are culturally shocked/limited in certain traditions followed by acceptance for newer changes (approach/response is basically different here). As it is reaction that matters more, so while Anubhav's family accepted Ankit & Khushi's alliance despite the small F2F fiasco before the wedding date, Gungun tried her best to circumvent from attending the wedding (despite consenting it for her Riddesh and Garima's sake) by cladding up in an outfit that would usually appear "odd" for a big, fat Indian wedding before giving in.
It's not surprising that Gungun, despite having Indian outfits, chose to wear a different dress (clearly, she desired eschew the attendance despite agreeing at her aunt's behest). She wanted to eschew the crowd and preferred solitude. But, as per the precap, she got tagged along to attend the wedding.
With regards to Anubhav's family, at first they were miffed with Ankit & Khushi for meeting a day before the wedding. Whole commotion was generated which instilled fear in Khushi before they moved on to the wedding day rituals jahan par giley-shikve maaf kardia dono ke, especially for Ankit.
Another minor jolt was when Ankit touched his to-be FIL's feet as opposed to the FIL touching the groom's feet & washing it with water. Initially taken aback, they wholeheartedly accepted Ankit as their son-in-law. It shows that despite sticking to the old traditions, they don't mind mellowing down for change. There is still that rigidness built but the family is open to change at last.
