I said he has arrogance of his success but he hides it well. I didn't claim SRK puts down his contemporaries.

Everyone in Bollywood is arrogant when they are successful..

SRK had aggressive PR because he backed it up with results at his peak. Aamir and Hrithik were far more inconsistent. The former only really started to have a good run starting with Ghajini. And Hrithik after a fantastic debut (where his PR was very aggressive, constantly pushing articles like SRK is done and he is the new star) delivered tons of flop movies
SRK was the Nr.1 from the mid 90s-2007, can't really be denied
SRK's popularity, success and acting skills were always over hyped compared to what it actually was.
Salman and Aamir have more big Hits in number compared to SRK. Even in 90s Salman had more Hits than SRK. Hrithik also gave tough competition to SRK in 2000s. It wasn't complete SRK dominance from mid-90s to 2007.
His overseas popularity was limited to NRIs but was again over hyped by his PR calling him world's biggest Superstar.
So yes, SRK was a Superstar, but not as big like he was made out to be by his PR. Same is the case with Ranveer. His popularity, success and acting is over hyped.

Yup. That's why all those producers invested their millions in him. 😆 People on IF, 30 years after the fact, know better than the production houses whose JOB it is to crunch numbers and check return on investment.
At the end of the day, film industry is a business. If they put money into someone, it's because they expect handsome returns. Not because of the active PR team of some nobody from Delhi.

Complete dominance never happens, no star can be the Nr.1 in every year but overall they can dominate more than others.
And SRK did that from the mid 90s-2007. Salman had some hits and one ATB in the 90s, SRK had multiple Blockbusters and hits. He was the bigger star. And then Salman had a horrible decade where he had almost no hits at all (look up his BOI page) and was basically a flop actor until Wanted/Dabaang. Meanwhile SRK continued to regulary deliver hits and was very consistent.
Hrithik was only competition for SRK in 2000 and 2006, rest of the years SRK dominated easily. And Aamir only took over from 2008 onwards, before that SRK was more successful and popular
SRK's popularity and success at his peak were not overhyped at all, it seems people here simply have forgotten because he has been declining for a long time now but thats no reason to play down his previous stardom.

Calm down SRK fan. Read my post again to understand what I've written.

I did. And my response to you is the same.
Understand that film industry is a a business. The producers don't put money into someone without expecting returns. They expect returns because they actually see the box office numbers. Youi don't. Nor do I. We're typing away on IF, claiming this and that, while people with actual skin in the game acknowledged SRK as THE superstar of the 90s and 2000s with actual cash.
Unless of course you're claiming you know better than the experienced peeps who also somehow fell for the PR.
We shouldn't argue about SRK's popularity, frankly speaking. And I am not even a fan. I have seen his popularity overseas when I was studying in the US. My nri friends as well as local friends went gaga over SRK, and chose to ignore me when SRK movie released, as I wasn't interested in SRK style romantic movies. Lot of people know AB Sr, Ash and SRK as Bollywood. And believe me no Salman or Hrithik can ever touch the popularity SRK has overseas. Though it is different now. Don't jump on me as this is about my circle in med school and people in the locality where I stayed. My friends never knew about Hrithik Roshan. They only searched him when KStew said something about him. That's it.
Comparing Ranveer the Clown 🤡 with SRK is beyond my comprehension. He may be self proclaimed SRK, but he is nowhere near him in popularity.

Over aggressive PR.
Buying awards.
Arrogance of his success but hides it well in front of common people.
Adding-
Over the top flop host. Ruins any show he touches.
Tries to be funny but only across as creepy and cringey.

Lulz. SRK used to take pot shots at even others's successes and mocked their films with his chamchas like Saif at award shows or K Jo and Farah on K Jo's chat show.
In OSO he had openly mocked films like Black by taking potshots at differently abled characters which I feel was a really cheap attempt at comedy by Farah.
Let's not get there. SRK, K Jo, Farah are originals in bashing rivals, juniors and seniors alike.
