When one is faced with life shattering events it leaves an indelible mark on ones psyche. One may apply a bandaid and go about with a smile but the pain is seated deep within.

When the character Anuj was introduced, Anupama hardly knew him. The makers had taken a year to establish Anupama and her pain in the hands of the Shahs. When she was divorced and Vanya married that's when Anuj makes his entry. The makers needed to establish his character and distinguish him from the Shahs just as they try to distinguish Anupama from Kavya. Anupama had to experience the worst and had to rise from her ashes. It began with the Dushera and Agh ed bad. Once done the confession happened.

Diwali Dhamaka We then had the Maang bar and Maine to create the deep wedge between the cheerleaders of Anupama and Ladla. That changed the circumstances between Vanya too pushing their relationship to the point of no return.

Mukkus entry luke Anujs was one powerful one ushering in twists and turns.

When Anuj was portrayed the flawless tycoon, there were those that complained it was unrealistic.

An affair, illegitimate child were the skeletons anticipated to tumble out of the Kapadia House cupboard. What came out though is the siblings, accident, adoption, property and now the abusive marriage and depression secrets.

Each of the facts adds a layer, a dimension to the Kapadias. It can't be rushed and has to be couched in MaAn progression too. The vulnerability has to be pushed to the fore. The supporters and detractors of MaAn need to group and regroup. The broken souls however need to slowly process the extent to which they are damaged and learn from others to heal self and pull the others out of the abyss.

Trauma can become the defining moment from which one doesn't budge it can guilt trip as in Anujs case where the accident, gold digger and failed marriage of Mukku has alienated the siblings. Anuj operates from guilt and Mukku from reluctance to face reality.

Anupama will thus bring the stability needed to the siblings and help them heal.

Right!! They need to accept, step out, talk, heal, face the fear, and pull each other towards life!! That will happen when all are bounded by this deep love they have and they are ready to LIVE!!!

You cannot wallow in self pity. It will only push you deeper and deeper in pain. We need to realise that such experiences teach us to live with deeper understanding and compassion.

Anuj needs to live himself just as Anupama has begun to love and live her life.

Beautifully put moon👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

so good to have you back🤗

Anupama’s story and the Kapadia’s introduction to it, amazing!

And I agree Anuj needs to live and heal like Anupamaa, self pity will only make it worse, they need to heal off each other

First let me applaud that how beautifully you penned down.

You are right Anu has risen from the ashes like a phoenix.

Kapadia does have layers but they are still much better then the shah's. I really want these two siblings to sit and talk one day and let out what is kept inside them, so that they can walk together.

Sorry I cannot not comment earlier on any of your posts.

Very well said! I really like the way you have tied all the story lines together.

Setting aside Anupama’s habit of labouring a point, you can see the shift in equations today. Her use of a combination of empathy, sympathy and firmness provides Malvika with something solid to hold on to.

I truly hope the makers treat this arc with the sensitivity it deserves.

I’m guessing you’re a HP fan by your topic title? :)

The image of Anupama rising above her pain and moving on made me call her a Phoenix. I had mentioned how the trio were broken in their own way when Mukku was introduced. Today I felt the way they walked hand in hand, the camaraderie they share, their ability to walk in each other's shoes made not only Anu a Phoenix but I'm sure knowing her nature and now seeing the crucifix the siblings carry she will ensure they heal. Together they form a deadly combo and as a HP fan was reminded of the order. To me they are no less like the connection between Harry and Voldemort... The antics of Ladla make him the Voldemort here and undoubtedly Anupama his bete noire.

Hey Moon,

This is such a lovely way to phrase the dynamic of fulfilled purposes, as the worst thing one can encounter is falling into a vicious cycle. To break out of a circle, we need to acknowledge and move past whatever is holding us back. To rise from the ashes means that we put an end to one journey and existence to make way for a new phase in life and perspective. The immortality of a phoenix functions on the premise that change and growth is constant. We cannot be afraid of change or the paths of life we must thread; more so, we cannot be comfortable in a singular point of living and existence alone.

What Anupama provides to the Kapadia children is: “This, too, shall pass” - no one thing, whether good or bad, stays forever
