Anecdotally so far the patients I have seen with Omicron have much milder illness than with delta - this is in vaccinated patients.

The folks who get sick are the one's who are already have pre-existing serious illnesses so I don't think we will we see the oxygen requirements that we saw with delta. But of course we are still learning about things like long covid so it pays to be safe.

Heard that oxygen levels r not dropping..

Also read recommendations to include food that help with blood thinning to overcome long term issues like risk of clotting.

Like ginger, garlic, beetroot, pineapple, turmeric, pepper, cinnamon, etc

Don't know about the dietary recommendations but yeah covid is associated with clotting risks.

How many times will there be boosters, curfews ? Is it going to be like this for our lifetimes? Masks, restrictions, precautions for life? Because these Corona waves are going to continue forever. That's for sure. This is the real Karma for human race for what we have done to the nature.

Plus i have been going out to crowded malls, restaurants, mosques, government hospitals, i have been travelling in public transports, meeting relatives, having get together etc .. And I dont even sanitize or carry sanitizer.. With that logic, I have gotten covid but Alhamdullilah we are fine. I cant see how this is the only measure that is working?

You are a covid spreader my dear. This is appalling.

Not only omicron but the whole Covid thing has affected my life. Infact of everyone's in some way or other.

Being a doctor, it's very hectic for me these 2 years. Both physically and emotionally. Especially last year. Seeing so many people struggling with life, people dying everyday and we being the doctors, complete helpless. People bawling over hospital bed, Oxygen supply etc add to the woes.

But I will thank my team for the support they extended to me during that time. Me being the youngest on in the team and having a little kid at home added to that advantage. Though I wasn't able to go home for days, but whenever I want to get off, my seniors helped me to get off days at a stretch. That helped me to maintain my sanity.

Though omicron is less severe than delta, still I will appeal people not to take this lightly. Follow all the covid protocols proplely, then only you can protect yourself and your dear ones.

Hey doc, when will we get rid of this virus? By mid of this year? 🥺

First I would like to thank all the healthcare workers. You guys have saved lives by putting your own at risk. You've worked long and hard during these uncertain times. You guys are heroes.

All that said, I don't believe another lockdown is the answer. Economies have already crashed, small businesses closed, people without jobs or shelter and just as importantly the mental heath which is just as big a pandemic as Covid, now. We can't and shouldn't close down countries everytime a new variant emerges.

What Covid has exposed is our healthcare system which hasn't evolved in decades. We need to do everything to make it stronger because these waves will be normal. I'm shocked Australia doesn't have a separate ward for Covid patients...thats extremely dangerous.

Wish 2022 brings us all some normalcy along with great health, physical and mental.

A good quality helmet, in good condition if worn correctly does protect from head injury in maximum number of the cases. Of course there will be a few cases where severity of the accident makes the helmet ineffective. Note the key points good quality helmet worn correctly and protection in maximum cases

But not using a helmet will result in head injury in all 100 percent of accidents where there is an impact on head.

Whether vaccination or following covid safety protocol, neither provides 100 percent safety from contracting covid.

What they do is provide a fighting chance by minimizing risk.

And both vaccination and covid protocol can only work if maximum number of people follow it.

Sooner the people understand it and follow it, sooner the pandemic will be over. Of course Covid will not vanish but it become like Flu virus. Covid Protocol and Vaccinations will provide fewer hosts for it forcing it become more milder with every mutation in order to survive. Though it will become more contagious yet it's severity will reduce because it needs to survive with fewer hosts.

Like flu virus does kill people still but very few across the world. However we don't have to shut down the world for the flu as majority survive it with medications at home.

And the only way to get there faster is vaccination and following covid protocol

Don't think we are going to get rid of these any soon. The virus mutation rate is high, and double vaccinated people may have milder symptoms, but it's going to stay. Lockdown, shut down, night curfews aren't solutions. We can protect ourselves by following proper covid protocols. By now, most of us have developed some antibodies, and most of us are vaccinated, so even after reinfection, it's not lethal.

Fear isn't solution neither carelessness. Boost your immunity by proper diet. But strong immunity can prevent many types of diseases. And get vaccinated.
