I’m also in Sydney working in healthcare. The medical centres are chaotic. All staff are testing positive and there’s no one to take over. Patients are walking in with symptoms despite decorating the whole building with signs of not entering if you have symptoms, but of course nobody looks. All rapid antigen tests are sold out nation wide and Covid testing clinics have a 2-3 hour queue lined up.
I was even told that a nursing home worker had tested positive but was asymptomatic. Her work asked her to still come in because there was no staff. I was shocked to hear about it.
Hi fellow hcw 🤗 It's a complete collapse , isn't it.The govt's completely fcuked up - they are like a bunch of headless chooks with zero idea about public health. I never thought I would say this but I miss Gladys- at least there was some semblance of order and organisation when she was in power.
The waiting time in the ed I worked in yesterday evening was 7 hrs ,there were chairs being out in corridors to to try and segregate the probable covid positives from the non covids, there were admitted patients sitting in chairs for more than 24 hrs in the waiting room.We have no space or staff anymore to run hospitals safely.
