Has Omicron affected your life

We were never really affected by the previous waves of Covid but Omicron and our moronic govt's incompetent response has made a complete shambles of our public health system.

I work in public hospitals in Sydney and it's a complete shit-show at the moment- I finished late wanting to help my night-shift colleagues but still left them with a full waiting room. We are short staffed and running out of space.

There are so many covid patients now- there is going to be so much collateral damage because of this and most of us will probably get covid as well because a lot of our covid patients seem unable to wear their masks properly.

I thought Australia was safe. I had no idea your government also sucks. I guess it's the same everywhere in the world. Look at France, England and America right now. The situation is grim.

Compared to the rest of the world we did well in the previous waves but our present Premier is a religious nut job who supported Trump and our health minister is a man more famous for his misogynist and classist statements. So it's all a shit-show.

Thank you for your wishes for my family and I and I wish the same for you and your loved ones❤️

I'm hearing a lot of cases in my known circle. We stayed put for New Year's, but everyone, literally everyone we knew were out on some trip or other. It's gonna be a shitshow once everyone's back from their vacations 😭

I’m also in Sydney working in healthcare. The medical centres are chaotic. All staff are testing positive and there’s no one to take over. Patients are walking in with symptoms despite decorating the whole building with signs of not entering if you have symptoms, but of course nobody looks. All rapid antigen tests are sold out nation wide and Covid testing clinics have a 2-3 hour queue lined up.

I was even told that a nursing home worker had tested positive but was asymptomatic. Her work asked her to still come in because there was no staff. I was shocked to hear about it.

Yes no one can make them understand their precautions arent working, vacccinated people are still spreading the virus, open back as normal and learn to live with it. Your faith have to be stronger than your fear / precautions

Hi fellow hcw 🤗 It's a complete collapse , isn't it.The govt's completely fcuked up - they are like a bunch of headless chooks with zero idea about public health. I never thought I would say this but I miss Gladys- at least there was some semblance of order and organisation when she was in power.

The waiting time in the ed I worked in yesterday evening was 7 hrs ,there were chairs being out in corridors to to try and segregate the probable covid positives from the non covids, there were admitted patients sitting in chairs for more than 24 hrs in the waiting room.We have no space or staff anymore to run hospitals safely.
