Amir Khan and Akshey Kumar

I think both of them can carry their legacy forward like amitabh bachan in 2000 because they were already doing script oriented film in peak , akhsy kumar is more popular for comedy but he can be great army officer or a cop too he and amir khan fits to the roles which are not typical romantic hero kinds , like for salman khan and shahrukh khan they were popular for romantic family drama thing, salman did try dabang but still their he played a lover more than a cop lol and did a lot of over acting , Srk is a versatile actor he can play romantic raj type and also can do roles like chak de india and anjaam or darr kind of ka ka ka thing with lots of suspense he only need a good subject based film , although Raees happened but it didnt turned out to be a good film

Raees wasn't that bad and a fun masala type of movie but people just expected more which is understandable given the director.

Still better than trash like Simmba any day

Aamir has proven with Dangal and TZP itself that he can give success without conventional romance, family functions or action and with Dangal he was even accepted as a flabby old father.

He focuses on different stories so he will have less problems. But I think he is more likely to cut down acting and focus on direction and production.

SRK can manage if he does films like CDI. Akshay can play cop or army general roles well.

Salman will find it hardest to reinvent himself as he cannot play action hero all the time nor do family dramas or romance only. Salman is also someone whose appeal depended a lot on his looks and physique unlike other stars. Such stars find it hard to be accepted after a certain age as their looks are no longer the same as they were at their prime.

Vinod Khanna and Dharmendra had it harder in second innings as their yesteryear fans only opined 'what happened to their face, earlier they were so handsome, what happened now', rather than focusing on their roles in films they did later.

I expect Salman to try doing a Rajinikanth and attempt to look young as he does and do same heroic masala films as he did earlier but Rajinikanth deal does not work with Hindi audience.

I do NOT think any 90s star can give big hits like Rajinikanth did at 60 plus with Sivaji, Robot.

And I will be surprised if anyone did manage to stay as relevant and popular among masses as Amitabh still is or manage some success like Black.

I do think any 90s star can attempt Baghban though, that subject will forever be relevant.

exactly the salman part is bang on , salman khan was popular for his good looks and charming personality etc etc he never was a great actor , even in romance i only liked his tere naam by chance he got to do it so well the way raadhe was and his hair style became trend ,and besides that he he can not do comedy films too, his serious acting seems more comic lol, plus people are already bored with him as he is doing same masala type films again and again dabang 3 , now 4 5 6 might be , he is relying on his dabang 1 sucess , race 3 was flop and radhe film too , i think dabang 2010 was already salman khan 2nd inning , he was not a top star in 90's i think so as the competition were with some great actors like anil kapoor , sunny deol , govinda, shahrukh ..............anil kapor is one unlucky guy who still got the looks to be a NAYAK one day PM 😉 but no film since long time

Govinda and Anil were not even toenail of Salman in 90s. Anil faded as a lead hero after Beta itself. And did supporting roles in Salman films like Biwi no.1, No Entry to stay afloat.

Look at his list of hits in that decade. He had low phase only in early 2000s. He was huge in 90s.

probably at the level of star power , govinda and sunny deol i guess were a bigger star of 90's than salman i could be wrong ,i dont have the ratio of his hits in 90's but maine pyar kiya and sajan , hum apke hain kaun , biwi no , hum saath saath hai , hum dil dechuke sanam, pyar kiya to darna kya or in total i guess 10 films would be hit , shahrukh star power was constant for 90's and 2000
