Nishant advised teja to add salt water on ice ...but salt waters slows down melting. rakhi confirms that salt water is going to help...is it deliberate attempt by both Rakhi and Nishant to lose task for Teja.

Cam someone confirm if salt water increases melting point of ice or not?

I have done it as well while cleaning the pavement. This task was scary to watch since I once slipped on the floor because the pavement was slippery

Salt will melt ice but if you touch it with your hands it can burn you as well

Salt Lowers the Freezing Point

In a nutshell, salt is a great ice melter because it causes “freezing point depression.” This means that salt helps in lowering the freezing point and, consequently, the melting point of water.

Yes absolutely! I live in a very snowy/ cold area. We used to sprinkle salt to melt ice and snow as well but recently the environment department declared salt as a unsafe way to melt ice and hence we just sprinkle sand to not slip while walking.
