Rain kissed
________________________________
Raavi spun around, laughing as the rain plastered her hair to her forehead, and drenched her clothes.
How she loved those special little moments, where she could just let go.
Shiva headed towards the roof, cursing under his breath. Where the hell his chipkali went in this weather?
He groaned. All he wanted was to get back inside the warm room, but it was pouring heavily and he couldn't find his chipkali anywhere, so he decided to check on the roof.
He looked at the bleak sky grudgingly, and took a deep breath. He headed upstate, using his arm to shelter his face from the rain, so he could see.
His breath caught.
There was his chipkali, dancing her heart out. In the rain.
She was soaked.
"Raavi!" he called. Hearing no response, he tried again. "Raavi!" Nothing. Finally, growing impatient, he shouted, "RAAVI!"
Having finally caught her attention, he looked down into her chocolate-brown eyes as he ran to where she was standing. "Raavi, gadhedi.. Akkal ka achar bana ke kha gayi kya? Kab se dhoond raha hu tujhe.. Aur bilkul geeli ho gayi hai tu ," he said, his tone a strange mix of relief, frustration and amusement.
Raavi gave him a strange look. "Ha Shiva, mujhe pata hai.. Baarish me bheegne se log geele ho jaate hai... Tujhe itna bhi nhi pata," she told him slowly, as if speaking to a small child, a glint of amusement in her eyes.
Shiva shook his head. "Mujhe pata hai gadhedi, mujhe mat sikha... Barish shuru ho gai thi to neeche kyu nhi aayi tu? Bheeg kyu rahi hai idhar" he demanded.
Raavi looked up at him. "Kyuki mujhe baarish bahut pasand hai, saari buraai, dukh, taqleef baha le jaati hai apne saath" she said simply.
Shiva ran his hand through his hair, and said, "ha theek hai.. Ho gya ab tera.. Ab andar chal."
Raavi pouted. "Par Shiva, itna maja to aa rha hai," she begged. "Thodi si der aur?"
Shiva looked at her pleading eyes, and sighed. "Chal theek hai, bas 5 minute.. Phir tu andar chalegi."
Raavi's eyes widened. "Bas 5 minute?" she asked incredulously.
Shiva nearly ground his teeth in frustration. "Raavi, itni tez barish ho rahi hai, Tu aise paaglo jaise bheeg rahi hai, tujhe thand lag jayegi gadhedi," he argued, before smiling ruefully. "Me kya karu tera? Mujhe to kabhi kabhi samjh hi nhi aata."
Raavi laughed. "Achha chal theek hai... Na teri na meri" she suggested. "Me chalungi tere saath andar lekin tujhe mere saath dance karna padega. Yahan. Abhi. Barish me."
Shiva groaned. "Tera dimag kharab hai.. Tujhe pata hai na ye baat?"
Raavi grinned up at him. "Teri hi biwi hu bhootnath.. Tune aur kya expect kiya tha?," she teased.
Shiva flushed slightly and muttered, "Chipkali."
Raavi laughed, and placed her hand on his shoulder.
"Chipkali Tu kya kar rahi hai," Shiva realized, glancing down at Raavi.
Raavi shrugged. "Dance kar rahi hu aur kya... Tu bahut slow hota ja rha hai Shiva," she informed him.
Shiva stared at her, "par Raavi! Bina kuch gaane ke dance kaise karenge.. Tu kya kar rahi hai?" he demanded, looking lost.
Raavi smirked. "Iska matlab mujhe hi sikhana padega," she said with a fake-sigh. She started to move her feet, and was delighted when he followed her motions. They were swaying, and had a steady rhythm, when Shiva decided to take the lead.
Using the hand on her waist, Shiva spun her out, and reveled in her delighted laugh, and the image of her twirling through the rain.
He twirled her back into him, and caught her as she landed against his chest. He could feel her giggling with delight against his chest, and he found himself smiling.
Raavi tilted her head up to see Shiva grinning down at her. He ran his fingers through his hair and her breath caught.
Shiva tried to think of something to say, but his mouth was dry, and he didn't think any word he could utter would lift the tension he felt as he looked down at Raavi, whose mouth was slightly open, and whose eyes were bright.
Raavi watched Shiva, not even realizing they were both still swaying. Her eyes roamed his face - his features, his ebony eyes, and his high cheekbones. His hair was slicked back due to being wet, and his light stubble was dusting his cheeks. It was his lips, however, that captivated her. She groaned and slapped herself. Nice, Raavi, you're rambling inside your head and what are these thoughts coming in your head, she thought to herself.
Shiva was shocked out of his stupor when Raavi randomly smacked her forehead. Startled, he began to laugh. She glanced up at him, an image of pure disgruntlement before she started giggling.
Soon enough, the pair were laughing as the rain drenched them, but not even caring. With a final chuckle Shiva looked down at Raavi, who was watching him carefully. He hesitantly tucked a wet lock of dark brown hair behind her ear, and tried to gauge her reaction. Her expression was unreadable, but there was a hint of a smile playing around her lips - and why were these moles on her cheek so tempting today?
Raavi watched Shiva bite his lip nervously - it was cute, to be honest - as he pushed a stray strand of her hair behind her ear. His touch was soft and warm, she mused. It felt nice. She felt a smile tug at her lips, and she gave in, allowing a grin to settle on her face.
All of a sudden Shiva felt a surge of nervousness going through him. Should he dare for more..?
She's just forgiven you, don't risk it.
But he saw how affected she was during their kitchen stint.
She wants to be your friend.
But she's many times reminded you that you are her husband.
Raavi's eyes never left Shiva' face while he battled with himself, and that gave him courage.
He leant down, and in one fluid motion, captured her lips with his own.
It wasn't fireworks. It wasn't clichéd wedding bells ringing, or heavenly choirs. There were no sudden feelings of epiphany, and there were no signs from the heavens that this was destiny.
It was so much better. It was natural. It wasn't a parade - it was just Shiva finally kissing Raavi.
It was his lips finally capturing hers. It was ebony eyes locking with chocolate brown ones as he leant down to kiss her. It was a pleasant tingle down their arms, and the slight popping noise her foot made as it left the ground.
It wasn't an award-winning kiss with spectacular lighting and a million rapt audience members; it was a simple kiss in the rain, between two people who were maybe a little bit more in love than they'd ever admit.
But for them, it was perfect.

I've always wanted Shivi's first kiss to be in the rain. I was watching Raavi's birthday sequence yesterday and their dance was so beautiful so this idea just came in my mind. Dancing in the rain & kiss.. What more do I want?
