i love all your posts about these thought provoking subjects and i always nod my head in yes reading those and same is this one.
i am not sure from which country you belong but in india... Females never allowed to exercise their "right to Choose"... like from the childhood they are treated same
"ye mat karo,
aise mat baihto,
raat se pahle ghar aao,
us se dosti mat karo,
kam khao moti ho jaogi,
cream lagao gori lagogi,
tej mat bolo.. cause ladkiyo ko dheere seere rahna chahiye,
ghar ke kaam seekho.. shaadi ke baad wahi kaam ata hai,
bado se jaban mata ladao..pati shar se nikal dega,
ladkiyo ko dusro ke liye jeena sekhna chahiye,
...etc etc etc this list is not limited to these...
so majority of those submissive female grown up as adults who dont even know if they have right to live this life as their own. And this society expects them to be THAT way only... a lady living this life for her husband, her kids, her in laws, her kid's kids"
so when someone like Anupama's character breaks that societal pressure/expectation people just cant digest... as in we tried so hard to keep such females under control and she had audacity to think about her happiness, live for herself... and thats the whole chaos.
and it will remain until more and more girls come out and can fight for their happiness, their life, mostly Their Right to Choose themselves over the world they have around them.
and thanks for sharing such wonderful post.
