This is part of why I thought thatās Adiās mom changed her tune. Knowing who Aryanās family is, how much they care for Imlie she knows heās good people. And I donāt know how anyone could think a man that comes from that family could be evil. Grey yes, due to recent events of his past but heās not evil.
Exactly. Upbringing matters. I'm going to back-track from the OST š, which btw I love Jaaniya and am too busy fangirling those scenes to think about if it's misplaced š
I like how they are interspersing the drama and jaaaniyaaa with scenes that not only contrast the families but also their differing values. They are telling us what Imlie's relationship with Aryan would be like and what her life as a R family member would be like.
Most of the T's view Imlie as some sort of lakshmi because she's stood by their son, her eyes have love for him, blah blah. In that house love is given and taken away at one's discretion based on the other's behavior. It's conditional.
Whereas the R's simply enjoy Imlie for who she is and with no expectations. She doesn't have to behave a particular way for them to love her. It's unconditional.
For the C's, there's a lack of real love, and for that I pity them. Neither woman knows what it feels like to be accepted for who you are, only for what you project to the world.
I went off on a tangent š
As far as Aryan goes, yes he can be an ass, but I agree he's only grey. Not controlling. The urge to control stems from ego and insecurity. An I-can't-accept-that-you-are-your-own-person type of thing. This I've seen modelled in Aditya. And Malini. Not Aryan. And honestly Aryan isn't required to roll over and worship at Imlie's feet. I think some get turned off of him because this is the expectation. They want him to project this new-age feminism that actually is the enemy of real feminism. Now I've gone and done it, mentioned the F word šš
