When I say that he knows he was raped, it means that he knew whatever happened between Malini and him that night, didn’t have his consent and it was done through trickery. So, when your consent is not there, then it is rape. He just thinks that both of them were victims. It is a twisted logic, he doesn’t believe Malini raped him but he was raped, (and even Malini.)

He not doubting Malini, there is no logic in it, not even the 7 years of friendship can justify that because of all the contradictory things that Malini did.

The things that he glossed over, the moment Imlie said Malini was still in love with him and is out to get him back, should have rung a bell… like…

1. Malini dresses up Imlie in unappealing way for the party and wears the saree Adi chose for Imlie.
2. When he is dancing with Imlie, she barges in and dances with him.

3. When his wife was asked to tie the tie for him, Malini butts in and does it.

4. Malini comes and sleeps in his bed.

5. Malini gives him champi.

6. Malini makes fried rice for him.

7. Adi asks Malini whether she saw moti roti and she says no. Next day, Imlie tells him that Malini fed it to the dogs, Adi justifies that maybe she didn’t want it to go to waste, forgetting about he himself asking her about it the previous night.

8. Malini tells him she told the lie about KC so that he and Imlie could move on but he forgot that she told him about that before Adi told her about Imlie and that time, she had thought Adi was having an affair with Imlie.

9. They were going through divorce and during the rape case Adi finds out that Malini stopped the proceedings, and when he questions her, she says she was confused and stopped it and he is like “it is all cool.” without even thinking about Imlie telling him that Malini wants him back.

After the court case, Malini was monopolizing all of his time and Imlie even pointed out that Malini has “suddenlyji” moments, an average human being would start taking note of all these things, specially when it is creating issues between his wife and him. His solution is ignore Malini and she can never affect our relation, if he had said that before JM night and before Malini was pregnant with his baby then it would have been understandable. But now for him, JM night, Malini pregnant with his baby and all are no issue that Imlie or he should be concerned about. So, my thinking is, if he is not concerned about it, why should I be concerned about it?

regarding, Imlie not thinking about Adi when she let Malini stay, Adi brought Malini to T house and then asked Imlie to take a decision. Imlie can’t still call her his rapist when he clearly doesn’t believe it and is no longer concerned about it. It had come to his baby at that point.

Regarding Adi never getting the choice of whether he wanted the baby, he took the decision to have the baby because abortion or not taking the responsibility of the baby was never on his mind, immediately after Malini revealed about the baby, he had deleted the video out of love for his unborn baby. If a thought or conflict was in his mind regarding the baby, he wouldn’t have deleted the video.

I agree to all of your points but if we go by logic then nothing would have happened and Adi would not have even brought MC home. All three characters are extremists. So Adi ji being an extreme believer of MC should not be a surprise. If we say why he believes her without any rhyme and reason then Imlie too believed SK when he told her about MC's involvement in Adi ji's nde. She did not have any proof but trust that SK was not lying. The only difference was Imlie was trusting the right person and Adi ji wasn't. Adi is wrong to judge Imlie's every word by her involvement in SK's escape.

All of the points mentioned have had one or the other reason that was enough for Adi to believe MC( going by the plot) so can't really comment on it. I am only trying to put a neutral pov.

@green: He states this thinking both him and MC are victims of Anu's ploy. My problem is with him not knowing about the rape. If he knew about it and still said all of this then yes I too wouldn't have cared. That is why I want him to know the truth about JM night before marrying to MC, so that as a viewer I don't see him as a victim. Marrying MC without his knowledge of being raped makes him a victim again and right now, rather than seeing him as a victim I want him to repent for his wrong doings against Imlie.

@red: Choice comes when a person is aware of his/ her rape status. Here when Adi ji deletes the video after accepting MC as a victim then his choice is automatically manipulated by MC. Adi ji in this case does not have a real choice as he does not know the whole truth. Thought and conflict would have been there if knew that he was raped( Anu's orchestration makes him and MC victims). When Adi ji does not know that he was raped and then how will that conflict arise? Makers never showed how he would have reacted with the baby news, had he known about his rape. He was made to believe that Anu was the only culprit and MC being a victim too and carrying the child makes her bechari in front of Adi ji and her 'suddenlyji' becomes a part of her mood swings and pregnancy tantrums.

He is suspicious of Imlie’s intentions (she is insecure and having ego clashes with her sister) but he is never suspicious of any of Malini’s contradictory actions.

Yeah, Adi failed as Imlie’s husband in a big way. Like I said before too, even if Malini was innocent of everything and Imlie was making up all this, Adi should have taken her concerns seriously if he thought Imlie was insecure and tried to do all that he could to make her feel secure. Instead his solution is ignore her and I don’t want to get into all that.

@bold: This, this very thing bothers me too. As much as I was relieved with his realisation. I did not like it because it was not his own understanding but still was satisfied that sometimes people take others help to understand the situation. Mitti palit happened when he again went back to being an Ars for whatever gussa he had when he saw Arylie.🤢

This man just forgot what has happened between him and his gehri dost and still had the courage to doubt Imlie just by a coat incident ( though I understand the build up before it but that is not a reason for hin to act the way he did)
