@bold: I don't think that age defines the romance in this story. In fact, a lot of the viewers have already started shipping Dr Sathe and Dr Deepika. I am tempted too because damn they complement each other like yin and yang but I am not watching the show for a romantic angle. But to be honest, considering the premise of the show regarding breaking stereotypes and prejudices around women, it would be in fact be great if they showed Dr Deepika and Dr Sathe together. The stereotype stating men to be older than women in relationships needs to be broken. and it is high time such relationships are given a much warmer welcome.
I also don't feel the need for a romance unless the characters actually complement each and I feel like they have good chemistry. Therefore, I have no interest in a Deepika love angle with some hot hunk, when there already exists a male lead that would make for a more interesting, non-conventional story. Why is the woman considered "too mature" for certain relationships only if she is older? Like we haven't seen multiple stories of a mature woman falling for a dumb, irresponsible men simply because he is hot and age appropriate. Abhay is not dumb or lacks emotional intellect, but he suffers from overconfidence and prejudice. Just because Deepika is his mentor doesn't they can't have an organic love story or it must be one-sided. Again, when the man is mature, and the woman is inexperienced, no one raises an eybrow if he becomes interested in her. There are already many dynamics to the Sathe-Sinha relationship. Hostile coworkers > respectful mentor-mentee > friends/confidantes > lovers. To me, this would be a mature and realistic love story that is not solely based on romance first relationship. Any other male lead would mostly be a love angle which I don't care for. I ship Abhay/Deepika specifically because I want the story to continue to revolve around these two and their evolving relationship. A second and third ML simply detracts. New entrants are ok for side characters only.
